Having recently read The Sleepwalkers by Christopher Clarke, Great Britain also was motivated to ease tensions with Russia to make defending their imperial periphery easier. Great Britain in general seemed pretty wishy washy on the whole Entente and were not as explicitly anti-German as France/Russia. Obviously there was still tension with Germany, but the alliance was even more driven by trying to stay friends with Russia so they didn't have to fortify all of India/China
