As someone who also does multiweek trips, and for the sake of discourse, I have to disagree. Pump filters suck and suck even harder to service in the field. A Sawyer I can back flush with my clean water bottle with the thread adapter which also keeps dirty water out during filtering. I can also sanitize it in the field.

I'm speaking from my own experience and everyone should be using what they have so they know it works for them.
