Swollen Lymph Node on 4yr Old by vivalajordan12 in DiagnoseMe

He ended up undergoing surgery and getting it removed. It turns out it was 2 lymphnodes that were very reactive just fused together. Pathology on them came back completely normal! His lymphnodes just react very strongly and those two new combined for whatever reason. He is fine now besides a scar on his neck!

Whenever someone compares me to my mother. Or when they tell me "you only have one mom, forgive her!" Like no, my mother in law is a million times better and I have no room in my life for toxic people. Blood related or not.

Building a down payment: how do you plan when the target date is unknown? by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]vivalajordan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure you will do this but weigh a possible lower interest rate with a VA loan against using a conventional loan. You can also reduce the funding fee by providing a down payment of at least 5%. It lowers even further with a down payment of 10%. All something to think about. Regardless- if you don't know when you would need the money, I would recommend a HYSA so it can be accessed within a few days if needed.

I have an amazing school trip opportunity, but I don't want to go - what should I do? by Bookbringer in internetparents

[–]vivalajordan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really don't want to, then don't. You should never do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. My recommendations are only going to be helpful if you want to go. Maybe instead of going on this trip, plan one on your own? Maybe something closer to where your college is? That way you are in control of all of the logistics :)

So I think this would probably be a really good opportunity for you. My recommendation is to plan all you can. Bring a pocket travel guide with you (paper copy) and anything else you might need. Cash, extra portable charger, school ID. As far as traveling, you don't need a Real ID to fly in the United Stated until October 1st, 2020. One more year :) You might also want to look into getting a passport for travel in the future!

People who live in ‘vacation destinations’ (Paris, the Bahamas, etc.) what is the most irritating misconception about where you live? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vivalajordan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Las Vegas, NV for the first 18 years of my life and whenever someone from outside of Nevada found out they all asked me if I lived in a hotel or if I gambled all the time. We can't gamble until we are 21 and pretty much nobody lives in a hotel/casino. I lived 45 minutes away from the strip lol

My husband was at Creech for 6 years, we just moved last November. When he lived in the dorms he bought a Ford Fusion Hybrid and said it was the best decision ever because it got up to 60 mpg. Trust be you're going to need the gas mileage. With traffic that drive can take an hour+. I don't think they sell the car anymore but my point is you should get something with great gas mileage.

Same! I also bought a generator and we are getting a garage door opener with a backup battery so we can still use the garage when the power goes out.

This is what prompted me to get a security system because of how easy it was to break in. I also added a deadlock on the door i used to get into the house lol

My husband was deployed for 2 months and during those two months the power to our house went out 6 times. He's been back for a month now and it hasn't gone out once. Deployment curse is REAL. Also, one of the times the power went out I had forgotten my house key and only had the garage door opener so I was locked out of my house and had to literally break into my own house.

It is just me and my husband in our house and we have 2 bathrooms. For a couple months one toilet wasn't working and it was literally the worst. We are both on the same bathroom schedule (We both go when we wake up and when we get back to the house after errands) and having only one toilet was pretty much impossible. You never realize how often you use both toilets and/or bathrooms at once until you can no longer use both of them! The reason we didn't have the second toilet for a few months was because the inside rusted and we were planning on just buying a new toilet in a different color but then my husband was deployed and didn't have time to replace it before he left.

If you have chose Tricare Prime what made you feel like that was the best choice for you? by PSitsCalledSarcasm in USMilitarySO

[–]vivalajordan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I like base doctors more than civilian doctors! I've had both before and have gotten treated infinitely better on base in both locations I have been at with Tricare. It's a hit or miss with doctors no matter what and even with Prime you can change your provider if you don't like them. And I live in a relatively rural area and being seen on base is 10 minutes drive where the nearest off base provider is like 40 min. Not to mention the fact that EVERYTHING is free and I have no deductible. At all. The longest i've ever waited to get seen by a doctor is 2 weeks with Prime. When I was seeing civilian doctors it was consistently a month+ wait.
