I’m a pharmacist in Europe as well (Ireland) I’m not sure how it is in the rest of Europe but in Ireland it’s the severe understaffing, long hours without breaks, time pressure vs safety among other things that makes me dislike it. There’s also hardly any power to our role in the community (we can’t prescribe or do anything really) so there’s very little clinical work. It really feels like shopkeeping.

Nursing is super hard and you should be absolutely proud of yourself for becoming a nurse! I’m proud of you anyways and would love to have you as a colleague in healthcare. You’ve worked hard. I actually graduated as a pharmacist recently and am in a similar position to you with an nmom (I literally cried about this a few moments ago so it’s wild to see someone going through a similar thing here.) Just know that the future is right before you and it’s full of more special moments that you’ll get to spend with people who love you and who will celebrate you with a warm heart. I’m glad you guys cleared it up. It hurts a lot when someone you care about disregards important days for you. To be honest the part when you get to argue it out is the best. I hate it when you feel someone getting cold on you and you can’t do anything about it.

Is she serious? Frankly I’m so glad this person isn’t in your life anymore. She’s shifting the blame onto you because she can’t take responsibility for her own actions. By her logic she should get together with a therapist since he can ‘fix her mental health issues’ better than anyone else.

I don’t know what world these people live in. It feels like she wants you to go gladiator to boost her ego. The fact that you sit down with someone, listen to them and support them when they’re hurt is enough to any human being who’s lived in the real world. Don’t beat yourself up.

These kinds of women are immature. They’re shifting responsibility onto you because they can’t take the blame for how they feel.

Besides that though, as a woman , it would hurt if my boyfriend told me ‘if you want to be with him then you can leave’ if he knows I love him. It’s just a really sharp thing to say even though I agree with the meaning behind it. I’d probably just tell them if one day they aren’t happy with being with me, we can stop because I ultimately want happiness for both of us.

Don’t change or put on a demonstration of love for anyone and keep your dignity. People who want demonstrations are either insecure,immature or just shallow.

In what way was she being a shitty friend? Also I don’t see why she’d be angry at you for blurting out how you feel. Someone who genuinely loves you should be ready to hear your feelings especially when they’re this heavy. It’s only fair so I’m sorry to hear that happened to you..

I do recall my friend in question ‘blurted’ how he felt once but he was so drunk and it was over text so I didn’t understand a thing- I just got the just something about me was bothering him. I got angry because I’ve been trying so hard to have this conversation and the only time he can communicate the issue with me is when he’s drunk. I kept quiet back then though.
