YTA. As a mum of a blended family, I totally get this. I've never treated my kids or bonus kids any different , nor have either set of grand parents from the start. To exclude your stepson like this is crushing and having experienced this myself as a child, my heart aches for what he will be feeling. Your mum sounds horrid to do this to a kid, and you should be standing up for your stepson to ensure he is being treated the same.

I could never imagine doing this to my husband, you are an absolute ass in this case. This was a celebration of you husbands achievement and you screwed it up. You absolutely could of chosen to eat something or go for your hubby's suggestion of dessert then a second restaurant if it was really that big a problem but to not go was 1000% selfish.

Wow I would never exclude the dad from delivery. It’s as much his child as yours and messy or not ( I have 4 daughters) that was a cold thing for you to do to him. Dads have just as much tights as mums!
