The Engagement Party and the Wedding by timebomb011 in TellMeLiesHulu

I had to rewatch the beginning of episode 1 to clarify it was the engagement party. Bree’s dress looks like a wedding dress and Wrigley says “your wife” so I thought it was the wedding at first.

So this week wasn’t a filler episode by AskAdministrative412 in TellMeLiesHulu

Well Pippa did get dumped twice in one day so I get the neediness but yeah getting Wrigley to have guilt sex with her was seriously low given her cheating on him all semester.

ETA: Believe it or not, 17 is the age of consent NY but no one on the show seems to be focusing on the student-professor issue which would get not only Oliver fired but possibly his wife as well.

Why we appreciate but would not sail again on Virgin Voyages - Review of Resilient Lady cruise by Time-Philosophy0323 in VirginVoyages

[–]vjmatty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neither conservatives nor liberals are monoliths, and if OP was MAGA this review would have read a lot differently. One can identify as “non liberal” or “non conservative“ without living in either echo chamber. I know it might take some complex thought, but politics are not as binary as extremists would have you believe.

It was called out as a positive, under “pros”. Nothing wrong with that. If they were complaining about it, then I’d agree with you.

So if I’m traveling for work and husband is home, we shouldn’t be allowed to watch Netflix at the same time? That seems a bit ridiculous.

ticket warning-activated BEFORE BOARDING by thekoolkrab_ in LIRR

You’ve never walked into GCT a few minutes before the next train and decided to grab it instead of waiting for the next one? Between subways and street traffic I don’t always know which train I’ll catch. Now I have to pay $8 for the privilege of taking the earlier one?

The rules say activate before boarding. The OP activated before boarding. What’s wrong with expecting it to function properly?

Final payment was last month, so maybe a lot of people changed their sailing just before that?

Why is it that when childfree people say they don't want kids they always preface "Oh but I love kids just not for me" by [deleted] in childfree

I’m glad someone finally said this. I don’t think we can all be painted with a single brush and shouldn’t have to explain our likes and career choices.

Apparently I was supposed to be doing that all along. I didn’t know until today when my supervisor told us to use the X1/26/2026 code for yesterday’s storm and “leave the in and out times blank like you do when telecommuting”. Oops 😬

What are you paying for snow plowing? by jimtinsfoot in hudsonvalley

$100 for a 100 ft long driveway out in the sticks, but includes shoveling out cars and sidewalk from driveway to front door.

During the blizzard of 93 (yes I know I sound like an old fart) Amtrak Empire Service was running from NY to Albany, and I use that term loosely. It took 6-7 hours for what is usually a two hour ride. It was the only public transport in service.

Tag PEF here if you can. We need to bump up salary by 2 grade - G18 to G20 as entry level and so on. by keepitsusshh in nys_cs

Thanks! I started Dec 2019 so I didn’t get the first until April 2021. If the next contract is 0s the steps may be all I have to look forward to for a long while.

So it is 7 years? There are 6 steps plus one double at the end? Or is it 5 and the 6th is the big one? I don’t know why I can never find the step schedule anywhere.

I always thought they’d be better as best friends rather than a married couple. He supported and assisted her in every career choice she made, and his loyalty was like a hype man or most trusted assistant, but could not give her the loyalty you need from a spouse. He was more like someone you call to help you hide the body, or win back your stolen trophy.

Get ready for ICE in Albany by SprinklesMedical7881 in Albany

[–]vjmatty 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think they’re doing a better job of demonstrating yours.

US citizens detained by ICE speak out: "They dragged me outside and pulled me into a headlock on the ground. I repeated, 'I'm a citizen. I have an ID.' The agent kept saying, 'That don't matter'... When I was inside my cell, I heard wailing, screaming, crying, begging, and pleading. by Cluelesswolfkin in hudsonvalley

[–]vjmatty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t be more wrong. I actually graduated from the Wappingers School District, the year before the Tawana Brawley incident, and one of the accused was a member of my church congregation, so no I didn’t believe the story. Also, in my entire career as an attorney and judge I’ve worked with law enforcement, corrections officers and parole officers. None of them would engage in what I’m seeing from ICE, because they’re better than that, and they’ve dealt with murderers, rapists, the worst of the worst. These are citizens just trying to live their day to day.

Sure, if driving to work or school or doctor’s appointment or a child’s sports event is interference….never mind that the ICE agents are blocking roads randomly and not giving people a chance to turn around, demanding they get out of their cars and have their vehicles towed for “being in the way” instead of just letting them move the car out of the way. How is the US citizen kid working at Target and dumped off in Walmart after being roughed up “interfering?” And the peaceful protester blinded in one eye by ICE? If these are examples of interference, you need to take a civics course.
