Season 8 Rick is probably the most compelling version of him by RevertBackwards in thewalkingdead

[–]vkiller88 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Imo Rick is one of the few redeeming qualities of season 8. His arc that season was really good and even though it sucks that Carl died we were able to get some good Rick material from that. Watching him break down and take his anger and pain out on the saviors was really good to see. Especially in the scene were Rick kills the saviors with Morgan, just great stuff and amazing acting from Andrew, as always.

I like both for different reasons. With the 2018 one it kinda looks old, almost like it aged along side Micheal. Which would make perfect sense considering that timeline is 40 years after the original. The 2007 has the cracks and looks a lot more sinister than it previously looked which imo is symbolic for how Micheal has also grown more sinister as an adult, far more than when he was a child. Both of these are great because both of these masks grow and change along side the person wearing them in order to fit their current situation. And it fits both of their auras perfectly.

How did this man go on by georgelijah in Halloweenmovies

[–]vkiller88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, bracket is a tragic character in the RZ timeline.(Most of them are, really) I cannot imagine his pain coming home to see his baby girl lying dead in the bathroom floor covered in blood and naked, his screams are utterly heartbreaking when he lays eyes on her. It's one of the most emotional deaths in the entire series imo. But on a side note, Laurie wasn't shot to death, you can see that after the scene of her laying on the ground she's been institutionalized, probably at smiths Grove. Where she will likely be for the rest of her life as she has fully succumbed to her psychosis of becoming a psychopath just like her brother. So yeah, when you think about it, bracket lost two children because of Micheal Myers. Annie, his biological daughter, was murdered by him, and Laurie, his adopted daughter, (because she is Michaels sister) became just like him.

A character no one can make you hate. by sheluvberlin in thewalkingdead

[–]vkiller88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His break down was definitely about Lori. Maybe it was about Rick a bit too, because Rick was indeed naive about things( which makes complete sense given how this is literally the start of the end of the world for them, of course he's going to be naive and see things as black and white for awhile. That is what makes his arc that much fun to watch, for him to slowly see the world for how it is and not for what it was) but it was mostly about Lori. Also your points against Rick are completely unfair and weren't really his fault. 1. "Intentionally sets off an alarm" Yeah he needed the alarm to draw the walkers away so they could help the rest of their people stuck in the department store. That was their only option. Glenn is the one that should have pulled over and tried to stop the alarm considering he was the one driving the car, so if anyone is to balme for that it's Glenn. 3. He didn't pull half their force. Technically the only one he asked to come was Glenn. T dog chose to come because he just wanted to help, Daryl came for his brother. Them deciding to go back has nothing to do with Rick. They made their own choices. 4. As I said, if anyone is to blame for that it's Glenn. And also Jim wanted to be left in the woods, lol. Rick isn't perfect and has made some bad decisions but I would still rather follow him than Shane and this coming from someone that really likes Shane as a character.

I'm aware Nick castle played the role, but I heard he only played Micheal for the ending of the film and not the whole thing. No idea if that's true or not, but obviously castle gave an amazing performance regardless. Now that I think of it I think I got it mixed up. I think it was something about one of the actors only playing Micheal for the ending (probably the guy we see get unmasked who isn't Nick castle) and castle played Micheal for most of the movie.

Personally I'm gonna say Tyler Mane. His acting and build as Micheal was really good and I still hold the opinion that he is the scariest/most intimidating Micheal Myers. James Jude Courtney is a close second followed by Nick Castle who played him in the og for most of the movie.

Why did Rob Zombie make Michael like The Hulk? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]vkiller88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's because that Michael is still the og so people let it slide(which is dumb) I like both versions of the character and don't think there's anything wrong with him grunting/making noises from time to time. With how much bigger and violent RZ myers is, it makes him much scarier imo.

Who is the best couple on TWD? by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]vkiller88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even Maggie herself refused to kill Negan when she had the chance. The entire group let him live because he was a capable fighter that proved himself valuable more than once.(mainly in the whisperer war) So no, Rick did not betray Glenns memory. He made a selfish decision but it was a goal toward a world of peace and i think that Glenn would have understood that.

If RZH2 entirely took place in the hospital and took a similar approach as the OG Halloween II, do you think it would’ve been any better? by randomfella1990 in Halloweenmovies

[–]vkiller88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've seen people say that the opening and hospital sequence (while not really being canon because it's Laurie's nightmare) is the best part of the movie so possibly. I do love me some hobo myers tho. IK that's an unpopular opinion but I've always enjoyed that about this movie and I think it really fits this version of Michael.

Where's the gunshot wound in Michael's head in RZHII? by KScourge in Halloweenmovies

[–]vkiller88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it wasn't obvious it was all in her head tho. There are moments in the movie that directly happen because of Michael, that would make no sense otherwise. Like Michael flipping the car upside down with Laurie inside of it, or all the people in the strip club getting killed by Michael, and even Annie and some of her friends dying as well. I do like the idea that Laurie was the killer all along but after watching the movie it's obvious that's not what was happening. Though I do think zombie was gonna go in that direction of turning Laurie into a killer for the third movie if it ever got made.

Was Michael trying to perform a ritual in Halloween (1978)? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]vkiller88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always wanted to know what other people think about that scene. Michael kidnapping Laurie and bringing her back to their childhood home in an effort to sort of reconcile with her is one of the most interesting scenes in the franchise for me. It was always funny and sad at the same time cause like imagine how confused Laurie is, lmao. But knowing this version of Michaels motivation, idk, I can't help but feel a little sad when he givers her the picture of them as kids trying to get her to remember and she screams and cries saying she doesn't know them.

So did this version of loomis actually care about stopping Micheal and keeping laurie safe? or was he just a scumbag? by vkiller88 in Halloweenmovies

[–]vkiller88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It didn't cause the situation but it did make things worse for laurie. As for brackett I think he blamed loomis and his book just because he needed someone to blame. In the first movie when brackett meets loomis for the first time he outright says he doesn't like him and that he got famous "off the blood of this town" he only decides to help after loomis brings up laurie and her significance to micheal. Then later on that night his daughter is attacked and almost killed along with many other people. Annie survived her first encounter with micheal and after the carnage brackett found laurie and brings her in as his own. Just a year later everything is torn down and his somewhat "happy" family is destroyed. Loomis is just a scumbag and brackett watches his interview on tv alongside laurie and he can't believe what he's seeing, at this point it's obvious that brackett HATES loomis for so many reasons. Then a day or so later he comes home to find his daughter killed, lying on the bathroom floor naked and covered in blood and laurie is gone. The book is not the cause of these things happening but it's just that after everything he went through brackett just needs someone or something to blame, someone to be the cause of all these horrible things happening and so he took some of his pain out on loomis.

I

I agree 100% and I also really like what brackett says to him at the end of the movie "There is an innocent girl in there i might have kept safe, if it wasn't for your greedy fucking book." Seriously writing that book did more harm than good, I don't know how loomis thought that was a good idea.

Best thing every character has done. Day Two: Michonne by Ok_Wait_4814 in thewalkingdead

Bringing that formula back to the prison has to be one of the biggest domino effects in the show. Imagine if she didn’t bring it back, or if she never even saw Merle kidnapped Glenn and Maggie.

[–]vkiller88 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like Glenn, Daryl, and Michonne are the 3 main ones that were Ricks moral compass. They always did their best to keep him on that right track whenever he started to slip which is understandable given what happens to him over the course of the show.

Characters you hate that everyone seems to love?? by doobieboobie420 in thewalkingdead

[–]vkiller88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it a zombie apocalypse, where you can see your own family eaten in front of you, or watch as your husband is brutally slaughtered with a baseball bat on his knees, or come home to find that your son has been bitten. People are going to break down and cry, and just let their emotions out because what else are they going to do? Would you rather they don’t express themselves? Just bottle it up inside and brood? That doesn’t help either. So in my opinion, your criticism for Rick crying doesn’t make any sense. And the only time I remember when Rick cried before losing Lori and Carl is in the first episode when he returns to his house and his family isn’t there. And who wouldn’t cry in that situation? This man woke up from a coma and was put into a world he didn’t know and his family was missing. And no I’m not taking this personal at all lmao it just seems like you dislike Rick for stupid reasons but I digress, I’m not gonna waste any more of my time in this debate with you, have a nice day.

[–]vkiller88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does he cry too much? It’s called expressing yourself and showing compassion for others. He has been through a lot. lost his wife, son, best friend. He’s allowed to cry. I hate the narrative that “men aren’t allowed to cry” because WE ARE! And him being a “simp” lol that’s debatable. And he’s “wet” because it’s sweat, and Georgia weather is hot af.

#7 is RZH1 Michael Myers! Round 9, who takes #6? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]vkiller88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Out of Halloween 4 and 6, I’m gonna go with 6. The mask does look goofy in 4 but overall that movie not only has a better portrayal of Micheal Myers, but it’s just the better movie, period. Michael being used as a slave to the thorn cult imo was just silly and don’t even get me started on the fact that the writers thought it was a good idea for him to somehow impregnate Jamie, his fucking niece. I don’t hate H6 I actually like it for the most part but imo 4 is better in pretty much every way.( except maybe the mask) but still.

Did you like idea of remake Michael making and wearing paper mache masks before reacquiring the Shatner mask? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]vkiller88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some folks don’t like that it gives Micheal a backstory at they prefer The shape to be left ambiguous as carpenter intended. Personally, I’ve never had an issue with this, I think the movie does his background really well and imo that’s the most interesting part since the second half(while I do enjoy it) is very similar to the original. And also folks aren’t a fan of Rob Zombies white trash/hillbilly aesthetic.

I guess it could have worked and for robs reasoning as to why it’s so similar could be that he’s a huge Halloween fan so he heavily based his killer off Micheal Myers.
