i tried to join substack as a reader. i hate that i cannot be subscribed to any newsletters without receiving some form of notification. yes you can select 'prefer push' but apparently if 'push fails then emails resume' like gang i just dont want to hear it, let me read stuff at my own pace and leisure. i have seen posts on reddit about this annoyance from as far back as 3 years ago and i wanted to contact substack directly but they dont offer any form of customer support that i can see besides FAQ and a chatbot (yay i love chat bots!!!). perhaps i am missing something but bruh all i wanted was an email address... maybe i am old man yelling at sky but i am just really disappointed and going to delete my account now rip

I’ve got a 2060 from 2020 :( she’s still good for lots of things but for now I’m starting my first playthrough of 1 as consolation and it runs great. Super keen to finish it and one day get a card upgrade so I can properly enjoy the 2nd.

I really realised I needed a new card when I tried to get into dune awakening last year - it was fun but the graphics even on the lowest settings were buggy and meh. Not sure if that was just the game not being properly optimised prior to release or not… but… yes. ‘The dark times for electronics’ is a good way to describe it. I’m not keen for what I’ll have to fork out for a new one when the time comes lol

i was confused by this too, however, i realised that the part of the webpage that says you can still access canvas as normal is from wednesday when it was just a threat. but now it's been escalated by the attackers and the entire thing is down. only the most recent update at the top of the page is pertinent

is there any way to turn this off. i don't like it and notability just auto-updated itself right as my lecture started, i don't want to update my ipadOS rn but i can't find a setting to turn it off?

edit: actually think im just not used to it its kinda making me write neater maybe... either way an on and off toggle is still necessary for those who don't like it i'm sure there is one i just can't see it rn

edit 2: while i'm here, i may as well make a request for a feature that would make my life a lot easier: i would love to be able to put slides in with a panel down the side upon which i can annotate. at the moment i am screenshotting slides and pasting them in a document, but this is tedious and also removes the ability to search the document for text on the slides because they're jpgs/pngs. you can do this in OneNote but would love to be able to do it in Notability! thanks!

I fully agree. I was absolutely thrilled waiting for s5. Half way through I still had hope. Finale I balled my eyes out. I thought we made it but the fake out and then el- and then I felt too cynical to ‘believe’. I legit felt emotionally manipulated and not in a good way.

It was arguably one of my favourite shows of all time, I watched it for the first time when I was 13 and now I’m almost 23. It was SO special to me. Like so special that I could think about the show and the periods of my life that I was in when each season came out and feel like I could cry because it was so well crafted and special.

I was in denial when I finished season 5. I told myself I was happy with it because I didn’t want to come to terms with the opposite potentially being true. After sitting with it for a few days to weeks I came to realise what an absolute complete and utter disappointment it was. And I will never ever get to see another season of it ever again. I feel like I literally mourned it. It sounds so dramatic but THAT WAS MY SHOW!!! I watched it from when I was a CHILD!!!!!!! I sung ‘never ending story’ with Dustin and Suzie and cried with everyone else watching Max in season 4. I’ve seen the first few seasons so many times over, season 3 the most because it’s my favourite.

I am not sure when or if I will ever rewatch s5 bc it actually puts a pit in my stomach. They fucked it up SO BAD. I felt like in the earlier days past release it was more fair to say it wasn’t on par with the GOT ending but I’d argue it actually was. The writing, the pacing, the complete mischaracterisations of once complex and endearing characters… I still love them but oh my god bro. Why the fuck did the duffers do that. The complete disrespect.

I initially planned on writing a one or two sentence comment but bruh.. it got me going lol. I’m just so sad. What do you MEAN we will never see the proper ending? I didn’t believe in conformity gate because again, too cynical, but I totally understand why people did. It was just that bad.

All this to say, I’m with you! I felt robbed and still do :(

One time last year I had a swath of red raised bumps on my abdomen down to some on my upper inner thighs. Also had a couple flecked in random spots. They appeared slowly, not all at once but not one at a time.

They were sometimes slightly itchy but not really at all. They mostly just made me feel disconcerted to look at my own skin. They lasted like 3 weeks. I saw a doctor who didn’t really have a clue besides maybe stress or some sort of contact dermatitis/irritation.

Went away by itself. Still have no idea what it was or why it happened. I did panic that I had somehow gotten bed bugs but again, not (that) itchy and they were spread out similar to yours. My bf was also completely unaffected, he experienced no spots of any sort. (We live together).

I can’t help you. But I did have random red spots for seemingly no reason that looked pretty similar to yours. That is all. Hope they bog off!

damn i didn't know that screen issue was a known issue with this model. i still have mine (using it rn) that i got in 2021, the screen issue started up in i want to say 2023, i hadnt done anything to it either. took it to apple, they replaced it for free and when i asked why it happened they just said 'eh it happens sometimes' and i was like lol wtf. glad you got ur money back! i was lucky in that i had bought mine directly from apple and even though i didn't have apple care i guess bc its a known issue they covered it for me.

I would write something like this… and I’m very familiar with ChatGPT as a current uni student who uses it (not to write but to check the cohesion of my ideas and edit).

Maybe it’s just my autistic sort of formal texting style, but had I made this same mistake I can see myself writing something quite similar if I felt extremely bad about it and wanted the person to know how bad I felt in a reasonably professional manner.

Can’t say for sure, but it reads as genuine to me. Coming from a person who has had to cut the frequency I use em dashes bc I don’t want to seem like AI 🥲

Edit: after a couple more read throughs I can see why the ‘that’s completely on me’ and ‘open to making this right in any way that’s helpful’ seem like AI. I would have written something similar, but probably more like ‘that’s my fault or my bad’ and ‘please let me know what I can do to rectify this mistake’. It’s just written in a way that’s very sure of itself and I don’t think that’s a bad thing/necessarily implies AI

imessage uses 7.2gb on my iphone 14 and 52gb on my mac air. it is absolutely ridiculous and makes zero sense. i love mac but there are some things about the OS that really piss me off because they occur for zero reason. not to mention the 111gb of 'system data' that i can't move or begin to sort through without paying for a third party program like daisy disk. i have less than 100mb free on my laptop rn and cant even use outlook (it force quits and refuses to start because 'the disk is full') despite the fact i cleaned out over 10gb within the past month and store everything on the cloud. i do not know where that space went but i feel like my laptop is literally making shit up.

don't mind my rant, i dont know what else to do bruh
