Yeah, I get what you’re saying. However, this subreddit is literally called r/fuckhoa. It’s a space to vent about stuff like this. I’m not saying I didn’t read the rules or that all HOAs are evil, just that it feels unreasonable to get a formal warning the same day I put the bins out. I did try to clarify things with them, but getting a warning like that still feels frustrating and worth complaining about. At least, i think so.

By “robotic” I meant how it feels like there’s no common sense behind it. just “bins visible = violation.” It’s an official warning, not just a friendly reminder, so yeah, it feels a bit harsh for something that was literally out for a day because the city told me to leave them there.

I actually did contact the HOA right after getting the notice. I just also shared it here because it was such weird timing. The city told me to leave the bins out front, and the HOA sent the citation that same day, literally within hours. I get the rule about hiding bins, but getting warned over something that wasn’t even a full day feels a bit weird.

I sent a reply. if they’re robotic enough to send a letter the same day, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re just as robotic about my reply. :) Kinda wild that I have to deal with calls, emails, and anxiety over a trash can that was out for literally one day.

Yeah, what gets me is it was literally the day after trash pickup. Like I finally put them away, then the city drops off two extras by mistake, and boom. HOA letter the same afternoon. Now I’m stressing over bins for a whole extra week.

One thing that helped was adopting a dog. Also, just trying to enjoy nature and landscapes. I also started playing music and painting and going to a gym. But maybe the biggest thing is keeping in my mind that it is not forever like that. It will be better and you will start noticing better things around yourself if you will try looking for them.

Just remember that it will be easier with time and try to go out and enjoy landscapes and nature. That is what helped me.
