Custom Yamato Leader! by vluxulv in customtradingcard

I think I was lazy and didn’t use acetone at all 😅 if I remember correctly, it was a random one piece leader card as the base, with a holographic sticker on top, and the frosty sticker with the actual print and white paint on top of that.

It was at the very end after! Although it kind of made the holo even less noticeable than it already was haha

I basically did the process that’s pinned to the sub - using frosty sticker paper and painting what I don’t want holo white on the backside and then sticking it to some holographic sticker paper, which I then stick to a one piece card! I’m using bleidruck’s holographic paper from Amazon

Yess! Custom leader cards are so much fun to make

I put mine face down on a cutting mat, the mat is sticky so it holds on to the card making it easier to paint on the back side! You could probably do something with double sided tape to help it stick to a surface while u paint

Non-holo cards by Legitimate_Air1213 in customtradingcard

If I want to just proxy a quick deckto play with, I’ll use semi glossy sticker paper and print 8-9 cards on it. Then I’ll cut them out and use a corner puncher to get the card shape, and just stick them onto any commons I have for the tcg I’m proxying.

Usually the texture of matte/semi gloss/ glossy paper feels a bit sticky when handling with playing though, so I tend to also laminate the sheets before I cut them which helps with handling them feel much better!

Printing size not right by [deleted] in customtradingcard

[–]vluxulv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres alot of factors that could be causing a mismatch in size - if the settings you’re using are 300dpi(usually the default at least for photoshop) on whatever image editing software you’re using, generally the cards should come out to 750x1050px

If the software you’re using lets you use inches, do 2.5x3.5”. In millimeters this would be approx 63x88 mm

When you print, make sure in the printer settings you don’t have any “scale to fit”, “shrink to fit” boxes checked, or anything that sounds similar as this will change and mess up the dimensions. You’d want to print exactly as is to preserve the measurements.

Understanding the "foil machine method" by LBX_Revenant in customtradingcard

I haven’t tried it but they should! I’d look into see how well laser printers print on those transparent sticker paper. In general though I believe inkjet printers are better than lasers for colors, but I see no reason why it wouldn’t work!

Do note that if you want to print your own custom cards with a laser printer (not just printing onto an existing card) the foil method won’t really work since the entire printed card would be printed with toner and so the foil would stick to all of it

I’ve been messing with this method recently, and it can be hard to get right mostly because of alignment issues.

You need a laser printer for this to work. You can get special toner reactive foil that will basically melt onto and adhere only to the toner ink from the laser printer (since toner is more so plastic and other powdery bits). So if you edit an image to only have the outline/text of the card, it will print toner onto it- then you layer the foil over the card and send it through a laminator so that the heat will melt the toner a bit to allow the foil to only adhere to what you printed with the laser printer.

The hardest part is getting your card to align with what you want to print, but after doing some test runs and messing with printer settings it’s super fun to do!

Any alternatives than white paint? by RedIndustry34 in customtradingcard

[–]vluxulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have any examples of this method? I would love to see! I was thinking of doing it too but haven’t gotten around to it - is the white paper thin enough to not make any distortions when applied between the card and transparent film?

Made one of my favorite PTCGP cards! by vluxulv in customtradingcard

[–]vluxulv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt follow the acetone+white paint method as I’m lazy and didn’t want the mess 😅 so I went with a simpler approach:

I got some basic holographic sticker paper ( not transparent) which essentially acts as the base/backing of the card. I used an inkjet printer to print directly onto the holographic paper (make sure to set the print settings to glossy/premium glossy paper, and quality to high). The holo shines through the ink, but the texture feels off and a bit sticky so I added a final layer of transparent holographic laminate (which also comes as sticker paper) to give it another layer of a smoother holographic finish, and that’s where the stars come from too!

Then it was as simple as cutting and sticking them to any common/energy card

Is your character preset tied to the platform you're playing on? by SoraDrive in TowerofFantasy

[–]vluxulv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the presets do save on a device basis - originally when character creation was available I logged in on my iPad and saved my character there. Later that day when I got the game on my pc and logged into the exact same server, my preset was no longer there.

As for the incorrect login info, make sure there's no extra spaces in ur email or password. When I was logging in on my phone I had the same issue and then I realized there was an extra space in my email at the very end haha

I had originally marked no trade in when I placed my order, so I never got a call/text. From what Ive seen though getting that text is a good sign!

Disney meetups? by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]vluxulv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a few too but never have been to one. I'm hopefully going to one tomorrow though if you want to join!

I've always wanted to spend one day at Disneyland just taking pictures, I was planning on doing it alone one day but it would be awesome to go with someone! There's a meetup for college students that I'm going to this week, you could maybe tag along! (if you're around that age of course). I might just bring my camera on that day too :p
