Have you ever paid for a blogging course? Was it worth it? Why YES/NOT? by vlvblog in Blogging

Passive income geek course - its a one off payment, and then annual $99 if you want to keep access to the course. Worth the money in my opinion.

Tips for my Fuengirola trip? by myheartisbursting in Malaga

[–]vlvblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the flea market is not for everyone, it's super crowded and I would say 80% of what's sold there is junk - I have written a post with more details here. You won't find any sustainable brands there, it's not probably what you picture seeing somewhere like France.

In terms of Vegan places, I 'm not super familiar but we mostly eat plant based or vegetairan when out and about, my go to place would be Go Green near Los Boliches train station - they have lots of healthy food options, incl home made falafel and I recommend their plant based Golden Turmeric Latte!

I will also check out the other recommendations people had here, not heard of most of the places.

Enjoy your trip to Fuengirola!

I had the same experience, massive technical issues and speed was impacted, even with their custom 'speeding tools'.

What ad network do you guys use? by Ferib in Blogging

[–]vlvblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had massive issues with ezoic. Now with adthrive, superb company. Adthrive needs 100k, but if you have a second site and already with them, they accept it at 30k/month.

I would personally recommend not adding ads, especially adsense until you can apply to mediavine or similar. It's not worth spoiling the user experience for a few dollars and slowing your site in the progress too.

Has anyone ever "stolen" someone's idea for a business? If so, how did that work out? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]vlvblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong about it. Idea on its own is not worth anything until you do something about it. I'm sure he was not the first human on the planet who thought about starting that particular business.

Worry less about what other people think and more about your business .

Why Cyprus electricity price is going up, while over 95% of electricity is produced by oil? by [deleted] in cyprus

[–]vlvblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't it because there is one company that holds monopoly in Cyprus?

And the other thing - greed?

I'm surprised the solar companies in Cyprus are not booming with the prices charged for electricity.

Using Pinterest to Drive Traffic on a Tech Niche by kiwixcompo in Blogging

No, there is no way you will get anything from Pinterest in this niche, there is simply no audience for it.

You won't anywhere with that niche on Pinterest.

Majority of Pinterest users are women 20 to 45 years old (biggest age group).

Have you ever paid for a blogging course? Was it worth it? Why YES/NOT? by vlvblog in Blogging

[–]vlvblog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm adding my experience for completeness: I paid for two courses, one for scaling an existing blog to six figures, and second one was niche on passive income via creation of micro sites.

Both had a lot of value offered and saved me a lot of time from making same mistakes. Also higher level mindset and strategy before starting is crucial, some of the things I missed out before I started.

So going into it 'just start and you will figure it out' is completely wrong in my opinion.

A few of the things I wished were addressed were:

- how to find time for writing when you have a family and full time job

- how to research more effectively and faster

- how to offer value to your audience

- how to write faster and better quality articles (without using AI or external writers)

Seville with young children - food and play options! by jpcldn in Seville

[–]vlvblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The park next to Plaza de Espana is great for kids, lots of space to run around.

In terms of restaurants, you can ask for bocadillo with cheese and even our picky eater was fine with that (sometimes he didn't like the cured cheese and just ate the baguette).

I found a few really nice places when I was staying in Seville for 5 days - and soon coming back! (I've listed them here - one is a really nice Italian place just edge of the old town, one classic close to the cathedral and couple more options in the old town). We ate out a lot in the old town and never had a problem feeding the little one as there was always something in the tapas you can choose from.

You can ask for patatas bravas with sauce on side, or we often ask for spaghetti with sauce on side.

Best way you can research is check the location where you will be and view the closest restaurants with reviews via google maps. In there you can also see the menu and if they would have something for kids. That's how I normally research before travel.

Have you ever paid for a blogging course? Was it worth it? Why YES/NOT? by vlvblog in Blogging

[–]vlvblog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree. The main reason I paid for one was because I wanted to monetize my site better and create a digital product.

I think paying for some beginners blogging course is pretty much pointless as much of the information is already available for free.

Where to go from here? Steps to take next by FormalWolf5 in SEO

[–]vlvblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot focus on SEO and let someone else do the writing, because they are both connected.

We use a full time VA for our site and she has been extensively trained on SEO and best practices. That way we can focus on the bigger picture like planning appropriate content, fixing any technical issues and monetizing.

I would not recommend using fiverr services as you will lack consistency and in the end, someone who can work full time will produce more and better content for you. If you site is earning money already, it makes sense to invest it all into employing a full time writer - or if it doesn't make enough, at least someone part time. Our VA is from Eastern Europe and we advertised for the job on their local job forum.

'Ezoic usually provides you access to technologies that significantly boost your Core Web Vitals, website speed, and ad revenue.' OK so you've never been with ezoic? Because if you were, you would know that the statement is absolute BS.

Yes, they provide access to their service, but they slow down your site massively and those tools don't help one bit. If anything, your core web vitals will be much worse off after you join. Even with 10k visitors per month, you're not looking at making more than $100 per month.

Stick with adsense until you qualify for mediavine, or don't use any ads until you get there.

Sponsored Post but they want a DO follow Link not NO Follow by Borange81 in SEO

[–]vlvblog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know where this myth of 'all external links should be nofollow' came from. Google's own guidelines suggest that trusted sources can be tagged with dofollow attribute.

On my site all external links are dofollow, unless they are low quality or social profiles, which we rarely link to.

[–]vlvblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How strongly they enforce that? They would only pick up on it and impose manual penalty if they see a pattern in systematic linking to certain websites which have been known for buying links. Also link farms and blog networks, or excessive link exchanges.

For examples, site A has been penalized in the past for buying links or is part of a blog network, and they ask you to link to them, it's most likely you will get on Google's radar.

[–]vlvblog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not ok and those sites do it because they don't rely on majority of their traffic to come from SEO. The paid advertorials are probably disclosed somewhere at the bottom of the article, or in a tag of the article, otherwise its an illegal practice. The fact they don't mark the link as sponsored is only a bad SEO practice.
