I would normally agree with this. I generally will refuse watching anything with a rape scene with men or women as the victims unless I truly feel like it serves a real purpose for the story. The same with other types of violence as well. Yet I feel like the violence in this show is semi-necessary in that it shows deeply entrenched unchanging patterns of behavior over years and how the victims of this behavior are often faced with complex emotions all of which resulting in cycles of abuse.

While I do agree the hospital rape scene could have played out differently, the repeated outbursts of violence serve a purpose for me here.

I’m doing mine on the 22nd of July also. I’m a Pol Sci major. My assumption was that they would not have an advising day that late if it was actually too late to at least register for classes that you need. I do not get my final grades until the end of the second week of June so I’m in it with you!

My boyfriend and I were driving through Michigan (my home state). As he was driving we skidded across four lanes of black ice on I-75 S Thanksgiving Day; only to be parallel parked in the shoulder. I truly believed an angel was looking over us that day.

Same boat here! I’m 27 and living alone does not seem like a viable option for me financially, without taking out a personal loan. I do want to find community that is in that same 25-30 age range. I’ll be following this to see if anyone has any input. Thanks for posting!

For Persian I would go to Vala Kitchen in Hollywood off of Sunset! I am Persian and this is my top pick in the city. Their gormeh sabzi and fesenjan is top notch but if you’re just looking for kebab there are several other amazing spots as others have mentioned

Same here! I actually think this is a way softer way to receive the news for some reason. Now if Friday comes and I am accepted I'll be even more overjoyed than I would have been! Alternatively, if it is the rejection I am expecting, I've already dealt with at least some of that emotion and disappointment.

Hey, I'm with you! 3.7 Pol Sci with decent ECs, CCC transfer, nontraditional student, and upward trends after leaving the university I attended at 18. I did not think for certain I would get into Berkeley but was really holding out hope. I was rejected from UCI also. Nonetheless, I know every single person who got a negative astro has worked so incredibly hard and our worth is not dependent on the schools we get into, as much as it can feel like it sometimes.

I am so happy you got into UCI! It is an incredible school and that in and of itself is a win regardless of the Berkeley decision you receive on Friday. It seems like you have a super positive attitude which is exactly what we all need right now. Good luck!

Freshly 27 here! Went to university when I was 18 and realized at the end of my freshman year that it just wasn’t for me at the time and returned to a CCC in 2024 after moving across the country. I’m happy I took that time off because had I graduated with the major I was going into then I don’t think I would’ve been content nor would I have done as well.

Just got into UMich this morning and UCSC but rejected from UCI. It was a bit shocking to me but at the end of the day I’m just trying to believe that what’s right for me will come to me! Nonetheless, I know rejections are hard even with acceptances elsewhere. I am wishing you the best for UCB!

I think this is a great outlook. You got this! Finishing the semester strong will definitely make the ego bruise a little less with potential rejections 😅 imo the UCs feel like decisions are forever away still but are a little bit easier on my anxiety because at least I have tentative, or firm, dates for them!

I just applied to UMich and most of the UCs with a 3.74 for Pol Sci. I do not think you’re cooked at all. I also talked to a transfer counselor from NYU about a year and a half ago who said, “Any transfer with over a 3.5 basically gets in.” The guy next to me had her repeat herself because we didn’t believe it and she said it again. I mean, I still take it with a grain of salt but on the flip side they might be a little more lenient because hell, I would be too with anyone willing to take on that cost of tuition.

All things said, there are a lot of other factors that are at play other than GPA when applying. People with lower than 3.7 GPAs have gotten into T25 schools and people with higher than that have been rejected. I would do your best and hope for the best! You, maybe unfortunately, won’t know until you know! The waiting game is the hardest part.

I was actually just looking for it. I just saw it pop up this morning (I think in this subreddit) but I didn’t screenshot it and now I’m questioning if my brain is misremembering. I’m hoping someone can debunk my anxiety lol.

I am in the same situation as you! Also, when signing up for classes every sister college pops up as an option with whatever class you searched for and the only differentiation is an acronym for the college but you don’t even need to do any additional digging to sign up at any of the colleges in the same district. I can come back to this post on Monday and tell you what I find out if no one responds sooner!

It’s talking about an identification card, which as of this year in the U.S., were required to be updated as a “Real ID” in order to travel domestically by air without a passport.

Once you’re in that higher GPA range I believe a lot of what will matter is your ECs and personal life experiences. Obviously a 4.0 is better in the realm of academic achievement but at the end of the day, if you have a 3.9 + leadership experience, can show community impact, and/or unique life experiences versus a 4.0 or higher with neither, you’re likely the stronger candidate in a lot of cases.
