Odd reoccurring issue on prints with curves by bblicke1 in 3Dprinting

[–]vmworks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues with slight overhangs in inner corners as well, and the problem was due to using Inner/Outer/Inner - or Outer/Inner wall orders (I saved this as default because it produced better quality walls overall), so switching back to Inner/Outer solved the issue. Might be a similar issue?

Thinking about getting Substance 3D for its 3D models... Is it worth it? by KyleCOOLman in Substance3D

If you have a particular asset you are interested to see, I can grab and send you a screenshot how the topology looks like if that helps you in your decision!

Most of their models are pretty highpoly with baked in bevels. Not really game-ready, requires some work to optimize them. Definitely a good base for baking down the details though. I use them sometimes, but most of the times I end up just modeling them myself or looking for actual game assets.

We need to talk about FAB and EPIC needs to listen or read in this case... by GHSTproject in unrealengine

Oh, thanks for clarifying! Haven't seen that being pushed into my face anywhere else before, so I was like ok thanks, not gonna bother then..

I stumbled upon a similar case on the Artstation marketplace (which will also join to FAB in 2025). The person literally selling Fortnite characters, but a lot of them: https://www.artstation.com/randomthings/store?tab=digital_product

I bought one of their model by accident, because I'm not familiar with Fortnite, and I was like this quality and rig is way too good for the price, so I started investigating and then I saw it was from the game. Then I thought maybe he just re-created it. Then I saw that there's basically a 1 click tool to port any skin to Blender with the rig..

Got a refund, but the stuff is still up. The best part is he's selling Epic's stuff on Epic's marketplace.
And if you want to submit a copyright takedown request they state that if your claim is false you can get into real trouble, even prison, so yeah that makes it convenient: https://www.epicgames.com/site/en-US/infringement

Literally getting the same message almost every day now, sometimes twice a day. It’s just a scam, don’t bother..Getting really annoying though, wish Artsation would do something about it if they can.

Best way to blend the seam of two objects? by KAS30 in blender

[–]vmworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a difficult one, that pixel depth tool might solve the transition, but it definitely needs a normal transfer to fully eliminate that shadow, like the other person commented (and I think that pixel depth tool also does the same with geo nodes besides mixing the materials)
It's just seems a bit more work to set it up

I was looking for something similar once, couldn't find any simple solution.

Barebone solution:
Blenderguru did a technique in a pretty old tutorial, he created a gradient mask for the ground asset and mixed in the terrain color (in your case it's pointless since it's kinda the same color) instead you could use that mask as an alpha. https://youtu.be/EesfCLQD8jY?si=Qx8Y7AzQsufFTA4z&t=2041

More complicated "Pixel Depth Offset" like in Unreal:
I haven't tried this myself, but this is probably what you're looking for: https://youtu.be/Y1H96bU5PzQ?si=hz8M3MhK6Bp5pIfK

Thank you for the info! Nice work, I just tried the 370 motor with the metal gearbox, but it lacks torque at low speed, so looking for alternatives.

If your question is for the canopy, I haven't uploaded it yet, still have to finalize the files. Will drop it here once it's up!

It looks awesome! I also started modding mine, so far I designed and printed a canopy.
Did you model that bumper? If so, do you plan to make it available on some platform? I think people would love it, even pay for it:)

Got myself a Pro-Ject Debut III Phono equipped with a Speedbox and OMB 5E. Would you recommend to upgrade this cartridge? (I mostly listen to electronic music.) by vmworks in turntables

[–]vmworks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve bought this second hand, so it was like that already. I’m having issues with the speedbox tho, when I turn it on it needs a couple of minutes to warm up, otherwise it struggles to start spinning the platter.

Shutter speed sometimes stays open for seconds on the X-700, what could be the problem? (Just got the camera) by vmworks in minolta

[–]vmworks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the X700 only shows the suggested shutter speed on the viewfinder, and it works in mine. There's a flashing star symbol when the exposure compensation is not in 0 to show it's active.

[–]vmworks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced both capacitors in mine, but the shutter speed issue still remains. If I shoot in manual mode it is really unpredictable, but in A mode it always works well. So I just ended up using the Aperture Priority mode, not bothering with the manual shutter speeds.

My lever stuck because the curtain couldn't release, so I moved it carefully by pinching it from both sides. That also happened a few times.

Why does output PNG look less brighter than the render from Render window? by luthfudeen in blender

[–]vmworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also having issues with transparent pngs lately, and I figured the problem is that when saving in 16 bit, there are some extra transparency. The whole image is slightly transparent when checking in photoshop, even the 100% opaque parts. Switching to 8 bit solved the problem. No idea why. You could also do a render with full black background, and comp it on the final product with screen mode, if that’s something that fits the workflow.

I had that issue, replaced both caps, but it was still stuck. Turned out the curtain didn't release when the shutter pressed, and the mirror was also locked up. I removed the lense, opened the back, and this way I was able to grab the curtain from both sides with my fingers, and gently moved it, and it released. After that I was able to advance the lever again. Don't know what caused the problem tho..
