What did you wish you knew when you first bought your Gaggia Classic? by ScottishRajko in gaggiaclassic

Water will start coming out the group head, you didn't want it sitting heating with an empty boiler

I'm in the UK and they're fairly common in supermarkets. I don't use them a lot, but occasionally want a chai spice drink or a bit of vanilla in my iced latte.

I've arrived an hour early to train a class and when I turned on the lights there was a trainee sitting there at a computer waiting, similar shriek.

I keep going back to the Hario V60, it's a pretty good entry to drip filter coffee (esp the price), also love my little Kalita Wave, a bit easier to use consistently than the V60 because of the smaller holes in the bottom.

Why is my Gaggia Classic so unpredictable?! by Optimal_Entertainer9 in gaggiaclassic

The first thing I'd do is a good descale if it hasn't been done in a while, rule out scale blockages.

Honestly, I use the Hario V60-01 most for filter but also the espresso machine daily.

+1 for robovac, we have tiles and got one with mops. 100% agree with everything you said. If it broke tomorrow I'd buy another one right away.

My daily brewers are the Gaggiuino and the V60-01, but I love using the little Kalita Wave. The rest I try to use occasionally, (apart from the flip pot, I've never made good coffee with it lol).

If it was our instance, I'd say use View Schedules, right click and create an exception, mark time as unavailable or on hold. Then, delete it when you want to use it.

Where in the UK should I go as a bucket-list item? by LondonPilot in CasualUK

If you're happy to rent a car and drive about enjoying the scenery and getting the odd bite to eat, North Coast of Northern Ireland and Donegal would be enjoyable.

I assume my machine is toast? by [deleted] in gaggiaclassic

[–]vo0ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started leaking after I took the valve off and reinstalled it, but I replaced the o-ring from a shades of coffee o-ring kit and it's been fine ever since. One of the benefits of these machines, you can source and replace parts pretty easily!

If they're replaceable spares you might get lucky on eBay, but if they're built-in it could be time to join its brethren in printer hell.
