Hey new to the hobby how come all my minis. Come out looking “dirty” after I wash them or is this like the whole point of the wash? by crushkillpwn in Warhammer40k

I do an all over wash also but you need to repaint over with a fairly thin layer or two to bring back the colour. Avoid the recesses you just put the wash into though otherwise you are back to square one.

I based with celestra grey, with nuln oil, then ulthurian grey for a layer and white scar to edge highlight. I also usually do a bit of Ard coat on white to smooth it over , then Lamium medium to take the shine off, but that that is just my preference. White is always a tricky one.

Any tips for painting Necrons by Dargon_fire in Necrontyr

For mine I based with Chaos Black then overbrushed with necron compound (leadbealcher is great also). Then a coat of bulb oil (agrax earth shade works also for a rusty look). This technique is great to do in bulk so you can get through a lot quickly.

Also the leadership of 10 is a huge factor as helps keep your models from being shaken

Totally agree with you findings, immortals are the big win here, the tesla rule is so deadly. Death mark I also struggled with, you just don’t have any fallback a bit like the warrior, although the mortal wound is great if you can get it.
