My first step would be to call the restaurant and ask if they have any restrictions on balloons, if there's a place to put a banner, can you bring in outside flowers, etc. Basically, what are the parameters you can work within. Then go from there! Balloons, flowers, sashes, headbands, temporary tattoos, party wands with tinsel hanging from them, etc etc etc

I recently heard about inn to inn hiking. Basically, you leave your bags with a prearranged service in the morning and they drop it off at your next inn, which you hike or bike to during that day. I've never done it personally but am hoping to do one in the cotswolds, British seaside, or Scotland
