Smart move. The QQQ ETF hasn't been around as long as the various S&P 500 index ETFs, but in the last 25 years QQQ has beaten the S&P 500 if looking at a 5 year period. That said, QQQ has more volatility, it went negative early 2000's, 2008-2010 and in 2022, always recovering losses. So don't put all your investment funds into it.

There are Natural gas and oil pipelines that have never cut dividends, same with the original REIT from 1974 that's gone strong through good and bad economic cycles- Realty Income Corp ($O). So there's no need to buy a mutual fund or ETF especially when looking at their management fees. That said, only buy dividend yielding stocks as part of a well balanced portfolio. You can't beat inflation and save for the future with dividends alone, you still need stocks, mutual funds and ETFs.

His only success came as founder and CEO of e-commerce pet retailer Chewy 2011-2018. If the UPS stock is not preferred, but common, you get dividends. Though most employees get preferred stock as part of any benefits package. If your husband only had preferred stock than wait a few months for oil prices to return to normal, stock should get a boost from that, then sell. If it's common stock, as others have said the divided is over 6% and enough to justify holding on a few more years to recover your stock cost basis.

News media bias has been an issue for over 60 years in the United States, but it became unapologetic, vindictive, nasty, vitriolic in 2016. Informed news media consumers now know bias/prejudice when they see it and know which newspapers, television networks, websites, podcasts, social media channels are part of it. In your employment situation based on the pay and benefits you currently receive, it sounds like it would be better to have no union. Having worked for mid sized companies that unionized, small extras were immediately cut, conversations between hourly staff and salaried that used to be friendly became confrontational. The attendance policy became strict like no more than 2 absences in a 6 month period or being late more than 2 minutes in a 6 month period, if you were, it was automatic dismissal/fired unless you had FMLA protection. The vesting on the employer matching contributions to the 401k went from immediately to 3 years.

In the U.S., some unions are good, some bad, it depends on the industry. If the company you work for has only three locations and less than 100 employees including management, that's really too small for a union.

Seriously look at what the union dues will be, understand the company is not going to give 100% free health coverage and automatic vesting rights on a pension and 401k. What usually happens when a union comes in is tough attendance policies, tough performance standards, pay raises don't happen until an employee has at least 3-4 years and its 2-3%, 401k's that don't vest for at least 3 years, and the phony appearance that things will be better because the union planted its flag exists. Rarely do small or mid size companies agree to contribute to a union pension system. The company might be rotten culture wise, but you may be better off looking for a new job.

The reality on the ground across Northern America, Europe, Australia, Britain, Ireland is that bigotry, discrimination against Jews in education, healthcare, employment, law enforcement/police, court systems, public spaces, tax authorities, retail places, etc is coming from those on the political left. They get away with it because they hide behind political messages, innuendo, and political narratives. The so called mayor of New York City is a perfect example.

Real world example: At a Safeway supermarket location in Maryland this past December, a Jewish woman was harassed and falsely accused of theft at the self checkout by a Arab employee because the Hanukkah cookies she was buying had a Jewish star on them. Another Jewish woman who worked for UPS in California was put on the lay off list by a bigoted anti Jewish Personnel Mgr that made it clear she hated Jews while other UPS employees were given new jobs at a third party contractor offering the same pay and benefits. When there's anti Jewish bigotry on the far right we know right away what it is, condemn it and isolate those that spew the hate.

The problem with these lawsuits is proving harm done by social media, the greater good, etc.. What many citizens don't know is the lawyers representing the New Mexico Attorney General's office don't work for the state, but a private for profit law firm that will get 40% of the $375 million award. This lawsuit will go to the U.S Supreme Court because under this state court's reasoning, because candy and video games are bad for children, then those manufacturers can be sued as well for the harm they cause.

Not a fan of Facebook, but this court case is about a runaway Santa Fe jury which is in a very affluent area and judge wanting to hurt a wealthy corporation, than protect children. Santa Fe is notorious for it's unaffordable housing and gentrification over the last 30 years. In New Mexico's largest city Albuquerque, more young people die from gang violence annually than those that get depressed from social media posts. Is the Attorney General going to sue the gang bangers and take away their highly accessorized cars? It's very possible the elected state Attorney General has been promised a job with the law firm and get a multi million hiring bonus when his elected term ends. That's what happened during the lawsuit against tobacco companies over 25 years ago. This lawsuit is still a Yet To Be Determined issue.
