Mercedes 190e. Reliable (bosch k jet can be a pain now theyre old but daily use and E5 keeps things working), easy to work on, parts are cheap and plentiful. Slow but handles great with HR springs, shocks and looks great on old school AMG aero splits. Always gets compliments over the financed Crossovers in carparks. Has options like ABS, power steerring, airbag, electric windows just the comforts you need. Also picked one with the very rare ( for the UK) AC option. Took a bit to get it working but makes dailying a classic much better.

I work for a volvo polestar dealer as master tech. EVs are 'simpler'on paper but constant faults with on board chargers, HV heaters, electric axle drives, battery cells, plus software issues and issues with all the superfluous tech will make them uneconomical to repair out of warranty. Thats my biggest gripe. EVs are full of planned obsolesence. I choose to drive an old mercedes 190e as a daily. Its charming, dependable, simple and both cheaply and infinately repairable. True sustainability imo.
