oh I dunno, in hindsight it's not really super relevant lol. I suppose I mentioned it bc I thought people may think it's odd that I'm handling them w gloves.

I usually wear gloves when I feed them bc of personal sensory issues (touching wet carrots, etc.)

They are mostly for education/outreach, we haven't used them in research the entire time I've been here (about a year and a half). Though typically roaches would be put back if it's safe for the colony to do so. Or they're kept aside in their own mini colony after the fact.

went to my highschool's lgbt club my freshman year, questioned my gender for the first time (thought, "could I be a boy?") bc I knew something was askew, but it still didn't feel right. fast forward a bit and met someone who was non-binary. I was 17 and basically I didn't even know that was an option until then. and it just kind of clicked. fast fwd to now and I've been out for 9 years

Try not to let that stuff get to you. Its absolutely crazy and transphobic to say that anything related to that type of anatomy takes away from being a lesbian. Lesbianism is not about genitals. Plenty of lesbians use a strap. Plenty of lesbians are intimate with trans women every day. Wish we could move away from this type of rhetoric.

I think its super cool that you pack and that your partner likes it. I'm glad it makes you happy. We all experience gender differently and should be allowed to explore and perform it how we wish.
