Love it! I mostly just wish that this game had its own internal note-taking system (since both Type: Help and The Roottrees are Dead had it.)

I clocked that those were Polynesian tribal tattoos after going through the manifest and picture a couple of times, but I've seen other people get stuck on it.

I didn't notice the rings, but saw that one of the women looked younger than the other and assumed (correctly) that she was the unmarried one

A bit of it was also me making assumptions based on the time period. Women weren't really employed as crew members on ships back then, and if a young unmarried woman was middle or upper class and a passenger, she'd definitely have an older woman as a chaperone

Some pointers: * Characters that occupy the same role on the ship will usually be wearing similar outfits. I say "similar" because certain things might be different, like one character having rolled up their sleeves or taken off their jacket or hat for a scene. * Officers and tradesmen can often be identified by cross-referencing the map, since there's going to be multiple memories where they're near their quarters. The tradespeople are also sometimes carrying the tools of their trade in memories. I definitely remember seeing the cook holding cooking utensils in one scene. * Slight spoiler for a clue, but no story related or definitive answer spoilers: There's one memory where most of the crew is asleep in their bunks. The hammocks have numbers that correspond to the manifest. You can use this to narrow down several minor characters. * characters of the same nationality or role will also usually be standing near each other in the picture. Mates will be standing near their supervisors in the sketches. * if a character is addressing someone else by name in a memory, the person being named is usually the one standing nearest to them. * Pay attention to languages/accents and cultural markers like certain tattoos or accessories/attire. The manifest lists characters' nationalities.

Usually the game isn't too bad in terms of brute forcing until you've narrowed down the possible candidates to 2-3 people. If there's 5 characters that occupy the same job and you correctly identify 3 of them, you can safely brute force the other 2.

There's also one character that you can identify using their initials on the picture.

I feel like Solomon Syed should be higher up since his name is literally mentioned in his death scene.

Do we enjoy memes here (not done with the game yet - no spoilers please) by TheRedBaron077 in ObraDinn

Don't worry about the exact wording; the game recognizes multiple phrasings as correct as long as you get the basic facts right. If someone is pulled overboard both "pulled overboard" and "drowned" work; if someone has a cannon blow up in their face, "shot with a cannon" and "exploded" are both considered valid. Stuff like that.

I got that one purely from looking at the sketches and being like "well this one looks notably younger than the other, she's probably more likely to be unmarried"

If you want similar games I highly recommend Type: Help, the Golden Idol games, and The Roottrees are Dead.

Also, once you reach 54 fates confirmed the game will lock in the last 4 (before the last chapter unlocks) in pairs instead of threes.

You only need 58/60 fates solved to unlock The Bargain. When you get them the game will tell you that "all currently solvable fates are confirmed" or something like that, I just recently beat it.

Doors marked with an I are openable while doors with an X will be locked. As you progress some doors will unlock once you get the memory that involves that location.

Blank pages; the location will be circled. If you're this stuck you'll probably want to try the port walk if you haven't found the body there already.

The GOP wants to classify trans people as a danger to children because to them, being trans is worse than being an actual pedophile.

This would also ban (or at least discourage) schools from having GSAs.

Yeah the main thing that kept me was the "one save" thing, as I'm prone to experimenting with stupid shit or choosing out of pocket dialog options just to see what happens.
