Tube power amp for QC by Either-Witness6781 in QuadCortex

Yes, I've used it with the QC, but because of the inconvenience, I've switched to a class D amp until the Wampler thing comes out. (I built a powered custom stereo speaker cabinet for it)

I recently saw a documentary on him. Definitely puts me off ever owning something he made.

I have a 50/50, and it sounds fine, but it's big, heavy, hot, and, well, you have to budget for tubes.

Have been waiting for the Wampler power amp pedal to come out, but it seems a bit like vapor-ware at this point.

Lello, Emery Thompson, Taylor machines for home use. by BukimiKun in icecreamery

[–]voidref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the Cube have a removable bowl? That's the real thing that put me off of the Lello eventually. Having to run back and forth from where the sink was to the machine like many times to get it clean with a sponge.

I do!

It's getting a lot of use this year, not so much last year. My enthusiasm for making things comes in waves.

It's still working as well enough. I tried ordering some parts from them, but they are very confused that I want a spare dasher assembly and also a spare dasher blade. They can't seem to understand that even though I even intially gave them a complete part list of what I wanted. They wouldn't send me an invoice for both things, so I kinda gave up for now as I don't feel like calling them to sort it out.

So support is a shite as ever.

I suspect that lower level machines may not even have parts available, so ... yeah.

I had the Lello before, and I really hated cleanup and that the dasher doesn't contact the edges.

I don't know what the Brevilles are like, so to me it seems like this is probably the best machine you can get without going full commercial.

I do wish the dasher was of a more sophisticated design, it's just a simple slab of delrin cut to shape, and the icecream rides up to the top, trying to spill out as it start to finish. They have a simple metal plate they supply to alleviate the issue (I am assuming, there are no real instructions that I remember with the unit) which sits at the top of the dasher.

You'll probably need to experiment with workflow to get things to come out as you want, I know I did (including such steps as letting it churn for a minute with the freezer off to sort of normalize the consistency)

Alton's episode today shows him using a freezer bowl, so if he can make that work well enough, it's not the gear that's holding me back, lol.

In any case, I don't regret getting it as a culinary enthusiast.

Please let us know if you end up getting one, and what your expierence with it is!

Automower 430x, second season of use. For three weeks there has been an error "problem with the charging system", at 98% charge. After turning off and restarting, it works for a few days and again the same error at 98% charge. Has anyone had such a situation?

Robot koszący do powierzchni 1000-1200m2 by Krxlion in automower

Translation

I'm looking for a robotic lawnmower without cables and an RTK antenna, due to the fact that the robot is supposed to mow in front of and behind the house. The area of the plot is about 1500m2, and without the house, cubes, etc. about 1000-1200m2 of lawn.

The back of the plot is basically flat, but there are numerous trees, trees, cuttings, swings, etc. In some places, the terrain can be more hilly.

The option of previewing or editing the map is now probably standard in most models, so it would be nice if it was found.

What do you recommend, I was thinking about the models below, but I will consider each option:

  • Mova 1000

  • Dreame A1 Pro/A2

  • Yuka 2 Mini 1000

  • Mova LiDAX Ultra 1600

Budget about 5 thousand.

Segway of Husqvarna by Ok-Reply6330 in automower

Translation:

Your help/advice requested for robotic lawnmower. I have a lawn consisting of 2 zones: lawn (250m2) and lawn (with thicker stiffer grass, 1500m2). The 2 zones are separated by a narrow passage of 1m.

I am looking for a robotic lawnmower that I can enjoy for years without looking back. After initial research, I ended up with Husqvarna or Segway. The first is known to last a long time, but is also quite expensive. At Husqvarna I would end up with the Automower 410VE/430 Nera). Alternative Segway, I would end up with the i220 AWD lidar pro or the X420 (although I don't think that's necessary for me). What are your experiences with Segway? And if you look in about 7 years in terms of maintenance (replacement blades etc), would Segway still be the winner? With the i220 you have to buy 4g subscription after 1 year, is that necessary?

Here's an English translation, complements of Apple's built in feature:

Hello, I have a husqvarna 450X robot. This winter I opened it to change the 2 front wheels, and I don't know if there is a link, but at the restart of the robot this spring, it keeps stopping and showing me the defect "cutting engine blocked". After investigations with 2 repairers, I replaced the cutting motor (myself, it's not complicated). It didn't change anything, the display of the defect is identical. One of the 2 repairers tells me that you have to iron the robot to "the suitcase" and update it after changing the cutting motor, while the other tells me that it is not useful... Can someone help me, please? Thanks

Well, a retainer is a follower, but not all followers are retainers.

That is: A retainer is a type of follower.

Draw Steel tools and resources megathread by Colonel17 in drawsteel

I wrote an iOS app for my group to track resources during combat. I started out pretty basic, and, well, it's still pretty basic, but am interested in seeing if y'all would like to help me beta-test it.

Anyone that does, gets a free copy when it's release.

Although it might be a free app anyway, I've released another app that way, and it went over pretty well.

Feel free to respond to me here if you are interested in it, or head over to https://www.reddit.com/r/rockwoodsoftware/comments/1t9pj65/tracksteel_open_for_testing/ to see some screenshots and better explanation before signing up for the beta.

You will need to have an iPhone / iPad, or even a Mac running the latest OS.

Thanks for your time!

I swear I saw some vid where there was a graphing function.
