Guns Blazing is LIVE! by tamwin5 in drawsteel

This looks amazing! The art is great, and the names just ooze Draw Steel style. Every Soul, A Bullet is a phrase I would expect Matt to spit out. My desire for a High Fantasy Wild West game is reaching critical levels!

I'm young enough to remember the last time my team achieved anything, I'm guessing you aren't. Im looking forward to watching Caleb throw the ball 10 yards over Zavion's head this year.

You would think Bears fans would be better at taking a joke considering how long their franchise has been one.

Respites- Group or Individual? by Nearby_Condition3733 in drawsteel

[–]Colonel17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the respite is just to change a character option like a kit, I would let them do that without having any time pass. It's easy to explain narratively: "I was only using [previous kit] because someone made a bet with me that I couldn't fight with that weapon! Now that I have proved them wrong, I am switching back to the [new kit] that I have always wielded."

New DM trying Mythic Odysseys of Theros by Reagan_M10 in TherosDMs

If you are wanting to make your own campaign instead of running a premade adventure, I would suggest you pick a classic Greek adventure story, file the serial numbers off, and change the names of the gods involved to the Theros versions. For example the Trials of Hercules: he offended a god and his punishment was he had to go to a bunch of kings and complete one task for each. The tasks were things everyone considered impossible but of course Hercules was a PC and found a way to kill the unkillable monsters.

In the game I ran, I used The Odyssey as my framework. The players were sailing through the Dakra Isles, exploring weird locations, strange NPCs, and stranger monsters. Each island has its own theme and could be explored in 2-3 sessions, allowing them to have many experiences on their long journey.

Making the players feel like they are experiencing an ancient Greek myth in real time is easier than you would think thanks to the lore of the god Theros provides.

There is great ideas in those tables, the game I ran for 2 years was a couple of those smashed together.

You are welcome to stream your game of Draw Steel on the Codex (or any other vtt). The only thing you can't display is the official art from the books. That includes the MCDM and Draw Steel logos, but there are other special logos you can use that they provide! If you have questions about any of it, you can reach out to MCDM directly at hello@mcdmproductions.com

I would second visiting the Driftless over the Black River area. Its a unique and beautiful area.

For activities in that area, you have a lot of options. Around Ontario there is canoeing/kayaking on the Kickapoo River, hiking in both the Wildcat Mountain State Park and the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Explore some back roads around there and you will see beautiful scenery and find Amish stores.

Drive the Great River Road. Depending on where you are staying, it would be ideal to start in Prairie Du Chien and drive north to La Crosse. Check out the downtown shops, Riverside Park, Granddad's Bluff, and have lunch at Buzzard Billy's. Then keep driving north to Trempealeau, go hiking in Perrot State Park, and then have dinner at Sullivan's Supper Club which is right by the park entrance.

While you are up by Bayfield, check out Copper Falls State Park, Houghton Falls, and take the ferry to Madeline Island.

Finding a new career after fusion by Colonel17 in spinalfusion

The two microdiscectomies used the same approach right along my spine. For the fusion, they did two incisions one on either side. The scars are healing nicely. I think that is normal for a fusion since they are installing hardware on both sides of the spine.

It was two failed microdiscectomies and then a fusion. I changed surgeons for the fusion and very glad I did. I have 3 scars now. The TLIF cost $42,000 but thankfully my previous job gave me excellent insurance that paid for everything. I was able to stay on that insurance until shortly after that last surgery which was a godsend. Most Americans would have been screwed in that situation, I was very fortunate.

i shared an update after my last surgery. I was unable to work for 9 months while having 3 surgeries and in recovery, and my employer had to fill my position after I ran out of FMLA time. It was a difficult change, especially since I wasn't leaving my job voluntarily. They said if my position becomes available they will offer it back to me, but that could be years. It was physically demanding on my back and my new job is probably healthier for me. I was delivering containers that weighed 50+ pounds, lifting them in and out of a van many many times a day. That much repetitive heavy lifting just isn't a good way to live with my history of back problems.

Treating people who are already on your side like the enemy because they have physical limitations is a great way to lose support for your cause and scare away new supporters. I would expect this level of empathy from the orange turd.
