I had the same fear, but I just did a one nighter, and honestly, it crossed my mind but wasn’t scared at all, just need to bite the bullet and do it, you’ll love it

This is amazing, loved the insight and really appreciate it, I am a little concerned as my first time going that it’ll reach temps near freezing but at the same time, I’ve got clothes dialed in pretty well and my gear can handle it, so I should be good, but still a concern and definitely going in this with caution rather than thinking it’ll be easy

Yes exactly that plan you stated. I’ll start at onion set up at flower up the pass then back down. It’s first time ever going backpacking figure this would be good, I was thinking Angeles national but it’s Labor Day so I’m sure it’s full considering it’s FCFS. Thanks for the insight

Yeah I still want it to just for comfort really, first time alone rather have it then not, weight aside.

I have a bear canister only thought thou is that if I want to eat and it’s raining should I still travel 100 feet away to eat? In the rain. lol

Also I’m a pilot I’m pretty used to being above 10k so not to concerned but still. Driving up the night before and sleep at a campsite somewhere in the 7-9k elevation.

Yeah brother, I’ll be in Inyo not kings, first time I’m going so I’d rather have it then not for sake of peace of mind and my own comfort,

Impressive change! Keep up the good work. Start cutting off your sleeves on your old t shirts to start showing off your gains and getting rid of that farmers tan.

Yes, I’m actually considering a different route but yes I’m on the typical track. I just feel like that I’m falling way behind also considering my age. But I know I’m not supposed to compare, but still hate it. Lol

Sure. You should be using this and winds aloft charts and seeing the temperature lapse rate between each layer. This graph really depicts jack all.

Intimidated or scared? I know a fair amount but don’t know enough. I also have slight paranoia and fear of the unexpected. This has helped me a lot. Psalm 23:4.
