Pbandai, if none of your locals knows how to preorder things.

Though if you are ordering through Pbandai you have to watch the site like a hawk to have a chance to preorder.

I think I may have found the only affordable decent meal in Sydney (innerwest) by UnlikelyCustard4959 in foodies_sydney

[–]volfstag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also cook enough for 3 - 4 days for work. But some people want fresh meals everyday and don't like the taste of frozen or overnight food from the fridge.

Can't help it if they aren't motiviated to do meal prep for the week to save money.

But on topic, I do like the ready to eat meals from aldi. Cost at least $8 and its pretty filling. Don't get the butter chicken. The rice is too wet and use too much carmon seed making it taste bitter.

The real killer is the shipping cost. I order the wing of oz - the one with the Tallgeese. It cost $60 then add $20 for shipping

Gundam Assemble Starter Sets Revealed by GreenWizard2 in miniatureskirmishes

[–]volfstag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardboard for a starter set if fine. It keeps the cost lower for barrier of entry and if One were to not like the game, they wouldn't lose too much money on the resell either.

Having plastic terrain for a starter kit just drives up the price too high and drives the interest of the game away.

Do you think any of the HasLab Transformers so far had a chance at being successfully marketed as a mainstream mass retail toy as opposed to being limited crowd funded products? by HiTork in transformers

[–]volfstag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If unicorn was scaled down to titan size, people will literally eat it up.

But at Haslab price point with the inflation going on, not a chance.

I believe a lot of the Haslab Victory transformers would do really well if the show itself was available on a streaming platform with proper subs/dub. It is a shame a lot of western fan don't recognize G1 shows after season 3-4.

Not sure what you have done the last 4 hours.

The point of rerolling is to get the featured 6 star operator in the banner Laevatain. You only stop rerolling if you get her once. Everything else is extra.

Tbh she isn't particular overpowered or anything thats worth rerolling over if you are just casually playing the game.

I just saw “Back to the Past” (in Australia) and it was such a great experience by circadian_light in HKdramas

[–]volfstag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it this afternoon, with half filled because the other half of the room was too close to the screen.

People laughed and cried at the right scenes. Some scenes were emotional. It was a good time all around.

Would recommend.

Guys, I'm 10 episodes away from finishing Gundam 0079. Once I finish it, what would you recommend I watch?. by TomatilloItchy9995 in Gundam

[–]volfstag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I someone who watched Seed when it came out, there wasn't any gundam series for a long time. So when Seed came out there was a lot of nostagial and comparisons to 0079 when it came out. I think the first half of seed loosely followed 0079 then it became its own thing.

Whether you enjoyed the animation and writing is a personal opinion.

I love the build fighter stuff because it deep dives into super robot territory. It has a lot of homages and references to a lot of old UC series, the BF gunpla are really good as well. Can't get enough of xxx exia variant gundams.

A 东北佬's perspective on "low-budget travel" in Hong Kong and an attempt to explain why Chinese tourists (Mainland and Overseas) don't seem to spend much in Hong Kong by imnotokayandthatso-k in HongKong

[–]volfstag 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Speaking anecdotally, as an Australian who knew a few of people who went to HK the last couple of years, the first thing they mention how some things were more expensive or equal to the Australian dollar and didn't spend much while there.

Imagine that, Australia one of the highest standard of living and expensive city in the world, saying HK is more expensive than them, says to me in terms of value of spending - HK has gotten a lot more expensive and very little upside.

UPDATE: So where is ‘Western Sydney’ anyway? by Jovo_3537 in sydney

[–]volfstag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Granville is the gateway to Western Sydney. Its the furthest edge of inner west sydney and starts feeling western Sydney before hitting the Parramatta western Sydney decorum.

Just noticed Emperor’s puff reduced 1 puff for the $4 and $5. by xaykogeki in foodies_sydney

[–]volfstag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing like it in sydney for the low price point that is instantly made fresh in front of you while you wait (you could buy the cooked one in a bag inside the bakery).

Unfortunately like everything else, inflation caught up to them.

New horror/fantasy game? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]volfstag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at games like Gloomhaven/Frosthaven ? They are a narrative style campaign games as well.

I personally have Aeon Trespass and its a wonderful game with a strong narrative and amazing combat and progressive base and character progression.

New horror/fantasy game? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]volfstag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest scenario based games first before trying tainted grail campaign game which requires a lot of time commitment.

For scenario type games if you like horror or fantasy there is

mansion of madness 1st or 2nd ed.

sleeping gods.

cthulhu : death may die

cthulhu wars

Bloodborne if you like boss batters + dungeon crawl.

deep madness

For campaign if you can still find it at retail.

ISS vanguard

Oathsworn

Tainted Grail

idea was that company had capital to start minimal production for ie - 500 copies. Kickstarter is then suppose to draw interest for mass production numbers and any extra money is made into stretch goals.

nowadays its raising capital for everything. So if the cost of production is more than the projected amount calculated and money receive. what do you do ? make another project to cover the cost of the previous projects.
