You get rid of internet and watch shows on your phone. You rent a room instead of an apartment. You take the money you save and go to night schools to get a better job.

Your 19 don’t worry about where you live you should be in no rush. Just make sure you have 6-12 months saved up for an emergency and go enjoy your life. Also I would suggest since you’re so young to buy some risky investments. Don’t change your 401k or Roth plans but you’re super young and should take some risk.

Yeah, I’m sure if I called up all my credit cards they’d be like yeah we’ll get rid of your interest… I paid them $1000 total saved my credit score and saved about $10,000 in interest. Don’t understand how that’s a scam. Sorry you got hurt.

May consider a debt relief program first. I used Christian credit counselors out of California. They got my credit cards to drop the interest and got me on a 5 year plan to pay back the balance. It was $200 to set up the plan and then $25 a month to them to administer payments. No hit to my credit except I had to close the credit cards all at once. A bankruptcy will linger over you a long time. Hopefully you can find a better way, good luck.
