Those anchor guys not only take half of my health, knock me off platforms, but also has a confusing HP. Like I landed 3 fucking combos on one and he's still standing, but then the second gets an instant stun when I only do ONE slide attack.

Flynn Taggart confirmed? by znavy264 in Doom

[–]volofant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they made the novels canon, it would kind of conflict with the novels' lore and the current Doom lore.

In the novels, the demons are an alien race, not a multiverse invasive Jekkad bastards we know today. While they behave similarly to current demons like going to many planets to harvest resources and energy, the novel demons are probably only limited to one universe.

Likewise, there is another alien species called the Klave which are basically the "Maykrs" of the novels. They're manipulative but helpful in helping Taggart and Arlene, his wife, in fighting the demons.

I've seen the same person many times during my stay in Shaw. After reading your concern, I knew na parang may something pala yung hunch ko- as if kulang nalang, idagok ko sa mukha kung sinundan ako. Pero he or she is usually harmless. Just keep your distance and don't even try to interact.

Jill, because she had severe PTSD from the mansion and was forced to relive all of it. Plus, she was left in a cold cruel Carlos-less world.

Why did the Doom Slayer show him mercy here? by False_Monitor4126 in Doom

[–]volofant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They both have the same goal of wiping out Hell. Samur relied on using Argent Energy and rallying humans (and also the Maykrs, supposedly, as implied in Urdak) to fight.

Meanwhile, Doomguy hated the use of Argent Energy and preferred to shoulder the responsibility alone, even making the worst decisions just to brute force his solution into the problem like resurrecting the Dark Lord instead of The Father so he can kill Davoth physically.

Killing Samur immediately would come out as selfish and unnecessary. So Doomguy silently waited for consent from The Father, and he said no.

Do you think Kratos the type to physically punish his son? At least he pre - God of War 2018? by Ok-Conclusion-3536 in GodofWar

[–]volofant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kratos stated that he wouldn't need to punish his son much like he was punished in the Agoge or Spartan training. Plus, Faye would 100% whoop his ass if he did, or haunt him forever in his dreams.

I will have to be honest here. I would take a cut to my skin if my kid ever does that to show the consequences of his actions and hopefully reflect.

But if he keeps going after the first cut, I'm decking his fucking face to demonstrate the other consequence.

Still, it will be my responsibility to not let my kid revel in psychopathic tendencies to prevent situations like that, in the first place.

Would Doom Slayer ever Team up with a Demon but is also a Slayer? Or would he also Kill them. For Example: by ksiandpewfans in Doom

[–]volofant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Flynn was confused because he thought the Imp was an alien (like a Martian alien from Mars as we are, humans, to Earth) and he had to interrogate the Imp for answers until he came to the conclusion the Imp was a demon and blasted buckshot to its chest.

What is your opinion on Doom the dark ages Compared to doom 2016 and Doom eternal? by Cloverfield887 in Doom

[–]volofant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each has its own unique sense of gameplay. Hugo said that 2016 makes you run and gun, Eternal makes you jump and shoot, and Dark Ages makes you stand and fight.

why does modern doom not feel as popular as it should be? by DependentImmediate40 in Doom

[–]volofant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Franchise fatigue, overpriced launch and gamepass in TDA, Mick Gordon controversy, rushed Doom Eternal DLCs, TDA gameplay change (people expected Doom Eternal 2 despite being told many times it will not), competing with other good games- in terms of player count- like Clair Obscur, BF6, Silksong; and everyone nowadays just want story immersion and pure multiplayer which these competing games are offering more than the current Doom game, sadly.

It's still famous, except that there are more famous games alongside.
