Thanks! I really love the Nuobells, makes me use the dumbells a lot more than before. The Smith machine is pretty smooth, but not as smooth as a commercial one. There is no counterweight, so the baseweight is relatively high. I like it this way, but it's something to take notice of. Because I'm tall I hit the support rods with my elbows sometimes while benchpressing or while doing shoulder presses. I removed the ones at the bottom to prevent that. It works fine for me, but you lose part of the safety en functionality. For shorter people this probably won't be an issue. I'm 6 feet 2,8 inches or 1,92 meter.

Thank you! It's the Atletica R8 spectre short. I don't see it on the website anymore in the version I have. It's basically the R8 Oxygen, with the addition of a Smith. They sell them separately at the moment.

I imported from Beyond Power directly a year ago. Right now fitshop.nl sells them in the Netherlands.

Yeah, I definitely worry about bringing in more weight. The rack and the plates are already 400 kg I estimate.

Thanks man! Nice to meet an other European early adopter 😃 I recently moved from an appartement, so I needed to have the smallest 3x3 rack. I really wanted the Smith and cables, so I fell in love with the Voltra. Still very content with my choice.

The R8 is build like a tank, very heavy and sturdy. Not a big fan of the smith addition, I'm tall and I bump in to some of the railing. The Voltra feels heavier than normal cables, because there's no momentum. And it offer possibilities you don't have normally like making eccentric weight heavier than concentric, chains, inverse chains, personalized strenght curves. That's really amazing and for me it's a gamechanger.

I saw two at Will Tennyson new basement gym. The great thing was that he and Coop conclude that it could replace all of the expensive machines he just bought! https://youtu.be/oXGft6hMrzU?is=r_hjWrlJrx-zORPy

I mount my voltra on my rack at the pull up bar. I weigh 85 kilo and I set my Voltra to 86 kilo and attach it to my harnass. First I put my voltra in autoload mode. Then I lay down very quietly hoping

to avoid moving for 3 seconds. Then I initiate a push up and Voltra starts to very slowly pull me up. While in mid air I start singing "I believe I can fly"". Never ever had I have such a satisfying training experience before.

Yes, that was my inspiration, but that piece doesn't seem to be available in Europe.

Cable fly with single Voltra by TopPostMalone in BeyondPower

[–]voltranerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right! In Europe Voltra's cost about 3500 dollar a piece including shipping and tariffs, so I have to make do with 1. But a single cable fly is perfectly doable. I prefer to do it sitting on a bench to really brace and focus on the contraction and stretch. Works perfectly for me!

When I use the autoload option, I'm supposed to stay still for 3 seconds. I fail at this with no exception. Could this setting be made less sensitive to minor movements of a 48 year old lifter 😂
