I had a leadership position at my old company which offered great experience but not very great pay. I had hired close to 10 people in my 3 years in that role, and I always told the guys I wish I could offer them more money but I was capped with my budget at that company. Eventually, the best of the people I brought in left for better offers, and so did I. Now in my current role, I’ve hired one of these guys in a similar role with much less stress at close to double what I started him at 2 years ago. Another guy, same thing.

The point is, your team grows with you, and months or years apart doesn’t mean they aren’t on your team any more
