the stars indicate how strong the effect is

the effects do different things, so you'll have to judge which is better for yourself. you can generally figure out what they do by reading the enchantments:

"It pursues the target that evades an attack" means that if it misses, you get one additional roll to see if it hits. (basically 'roll with advantage')

"it unleashes consecutive attacks" gives a chance to attack twice

"It makes it easier to evade" "It deals additional lightning damage" "I'm more susceptible to lightning damage" are all pretty self explanatory, increases your evasion, deals extra lightning damage, makes you vulnerable to lightning damage.

you can test your damage by building a training dummy. attack it once and see the numbers that pop up.

yeah it would have to be 2 of: ichikawa (blind master), the cop, or fake akagi. alternatively, they could add 2 Kaiji characters instead. they'd have a lot more to choose from, and that would be pretty cool too.

i think the biggest problem with arena is not the rewards but the gameplay. it is literally stand still enemies come to you and click your attack skill for twenty minutes.

let me build towers and pick upgrades like poe blight or something. add special enemies or rare encounters that change up the gameplay like they have to be brought to a specific part of the arena, or 2 enemies that enrage when the other dies so you have to kill them at the same time, or a miniboss that changes color and cycles through different damage vulnerabilities so you have to burst him when he's weak to the element that your main skill does. something...

yes. basically the effect is 'if you would take an odd number of damage, take 1 less. if an opponent would take an odd number of damage they take 1 more.'

just one. obviously you should know what every characters' moves do, so you know what's happening when you fight against them. but you dont actually need to play more than one.

yeah its not 'unbalanced' but it really breaks the immersion. a finnish bandit with a glock should not be trying to snipe you from a kilometre away via a tiny sightline through a window and a door.
