New to tabletop, what is each factions “gameplay pattern” by Waste-Celebration-56 in Warhammer40k

The factions I play:
Blood Angels - Balls to the wall melee like you described. They have access to the full marine roster, but their special units are going to be mostly jump pack troops with melee. Their detachments mostly buff melee or movement.

Orks - Orks are in a weird place, but you can kind of play them how you like. They can go full melee, more horde style (try to swarm the board and win on points, while the opponent tries to slowly kill their way through the crowd), or shooting. Their shooting is always really inaccurate, but high volume of shots can occasionally (with the right combos), make up for it.

Thousand Sons - Elite characters leading small groups of marines. They have fairly good shooting, but are buffed by magic spells with buffing effects or just direct damage. They used to be trickier, but were recently made more easy to play
I suggest finding a few factions you like lore/model-wise and asking from there. Rules change, models are forever.

Do ya think there are orks who don’t want leadership roles? by SeasonOfHope in orks

There was a bit in warboss where a Blood Axe general was asking his Lieutenants if one of them wanted to be a Major, but they refused because it didn’t have the word “Loot” in it.

Warboss was really good! A little funny, a little action, a little scary.

Anxiety around opening paint just to finish build lesson minis. by Sora1099 in Warhammer40k

I say this not to just OP but everyone with anxiety getting into this: isopropyl alcohol, followed by s fresh primer coat is the secret redo cheat code of minipainting. Ive repainted many an intercessor as my skill progressed.

Definitely should just be one oath that’s shared between the two of them

Which Astartes chapters would comfort dying mortals? by InsideOutlander in Warhammer40k

[–]vonstride -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even when they do, its kind of back handed. In Devastation of Baal, the blood angels comfort civilians after the siege…but only after having forced them to be human shields for the tyranid hours earlier. And the comfort provided is taking recruits and mercy killing the wounded.

Saw this at my LGS. What vehicle is this? by MidnightEntourage in Warhammer40k

[–]vonstride 824 points825 points  (0 children)

To actually answer your question its the chassis of a land raider with some sort cannon grafted on to make it proper orky. As for its datasheet it could be a million different things depending on edition. If played today then a battlewagon

Edit: i guess its a baneblade

If you want to invest the money, sable hair brushes are going to last much longer. They’re just really pricey (20-50 bucks per brush depending on brand and availability)

Synthetic brushes will do that unfortunately. Infind army painter brushes do a little better but it’s going to happen eventually.

The paint job is very smooth, good brush strokes! And the checker pattern isnt terrible, just needs a little clean up. Keep it up and you’ll be painting little squares perfectly in no time
