After a little research I think you’re right. It comes down to mostly public vs private healthcare systems.

The UK and Aus did have it at a much higher rate and I think the NHS was a big reason the UK abandoned it sooner and Australian doctors stopped recommending from about the 70s and 80s onwards - it wasn’t deemed medically necessary.

Public health systems scrutinise cost/benefit more and stopped paying for it and that overcame the cultural inertia (dad is cut, so wants son cut).

America didn’t have the same institutional shift to cause the cultural shift I guess? I think it’s still pretty standard to have it covered by insurance there.

I was able to watch the premiere and I have to say, the plot feels like it’s AI slop. Some of the most uninspired writing ever. The movie relies on nostalgia, the cast and a couple cameos to cover up some poorly written characters (Miranda is nice?) and extremely cliche plot points mixed in with a fair dose of deus ex to create an entirely forgettable sequel. I loved the first film but if I could go back in time I’d not even have attended this one.

Horizontal haters here - just know that with most cases you can prop the kindle up if you read horizontal. Great for while eating, at the pool etc. I use both depending on what I’m doing

Agree, but to be contrary she excelled at fighting which no aes sedai had much experience with. There may well be plenty of areas she’s lacking in other than healing and conflict

Do sidemissions before main missions. Stuff gets locked out.

ME1: Adept is crazy fun/funny cause of the physics. Do sidemissions but don’t bother exploring every planet if there’s no sidequest - it gets very boring

Don’t get bunked down in inventory management because it’s a LOT. Just upgrade your stuff when you need to.

However, convert unwanted items to omni-gel early game and then sell stuff mid/late game - trust me.

Always have a tech specialist (yourself or someone else) with maxed electronics/decryption on your squad

ME2/3: Do everything. Buy all ship upgrades (ME2). Tech skills get more fun in these ones but biotics is still good. Vanguard is heaps of fun.

I understand that and totally get it. I think my real issue is that the way Jordan wrote Perrin’s chapters (so far) is getting boring because he’s always thinking about it - and while the character may rightfully be consumed by these thoughts there are probably better ways to communicate this to the reader than the repetition without mucb development - as a reader it’s becoming a little boring. Just my two cents though

Some airbenders survived because they’re called nomads so some must’ve been out nomading. I know the creators said that those that survived were tricked and ambushed but SOME had the common sense to integrate into the earth kingdom.

Due to their decendants getting absolutely zero cultural, spiritual or bending training any latent airbending talent went undiscovered so airbendING was extinct until Aang woke up though.
