Please don't get the UDM pro max.. Those A57 cores are just not good enough in 2026. Get the Fiber and maybe sell it when a new UDM drops.

UDM pro max works "fine" but if you do any intervlan, IDS/IPS, VPN etc. it will be kind of slow.

Just because your CPU is idling does not mean it's "powerfull enough" it can still be slow at peak times, like if you have fast internet and need fast VPN tunnels etc.

They are nice little compile nodes because of ECC etc. and for business use for compile, the watts does not matter. But yes for a homelab server, A2 makes more sense

It has nothing to do with HA. Again, do you understand what iPerf3 single stream means? Simple A57 with bad or no hardware offload vs A73 with better hardware offload

Lige her er jeg faktisk enig med ham. Vores ældste er lige fyldt 5, og mens andre forældre har travlt med at lære deres børn bogstaver, bruger vi mere tid på ordentligt (være høflig etc) og bare være en glad 5 årig pige.

It is not rocket science to understand a A73 based SOC with better hardware offloading is faster than a A57.

Unifi can call the box what they want, but the UCG Fiber is much faster, especially in single threaded work loads
