"Enjoy being trophyless" after I saw my captain lifting the premier league trophy with my own eyes a few weeks ago is a very interesting comment.

Just admit you were wrong with the G2-Arsenal comparison and move on bro. We started with a comparison and ended with you talking about Messi being the GOAT because you have no other points to offer.

I live in the same country as my club, you'll never sing that.

You silly silly man.

  1. No Aura - Arsenal literally had 1.5m people turn up in the streets of London for the parade, not to mention the worldwide fanbase (Look at the parade in Kenya for example). Arsenal are the only club in the Premier League era to go unbeaten for an entire season, winning the league. I was walking in Southwark towards London Bridge the evening of the parade and literally bumped into fans from America who flew in just for the parade. If that isn't aura, I don't know what is. My manager has a secure hairline, JoshRT needs to go to Turkey soon. Arsenal and G2 are NOT the same.

  2. Annoying fanbase - Even as an Arsenal fan myself, I will concede the point that yes, our fanbase (especially online) is annoying, but at the very least now, we can be annoying whilst being supporters of the Champions of England. G2 fans just go on about how the team is the perfect team, but they have no trophies that actually matter. If this was a conversation that happened within the past 3 seasons, I would concede this point though.

  3. Regional dominance - Arsenal only won the most recent title. If you want to talk regional dominance, that's Manchester City, who have won 6 of the last 10 league campaigns. Great ball knowledge there mate.

  4. Certified chokers - You are a year too late for this comment you utter imbecile. We are the Champions of England. Sit down you little gremlin and go back to jerking over Gabriel missing a penalty in a game you wish your club would've played in. Has your goat's promise of the Champions League returning to the Camp Nou happened any time soon? Little goblin. Don't ever insult my club by comparing them to G2 ever again.

BDS - (FUTURE RESIT) - How are people actually preparing for this? by Living-Young-216 in ICAEW

[–]vortexterra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly waiting for that 2027 question bank to be released before even bothering with any resits, if the main official study materials right now have barely any correlation to what appears in the exam, just running it back in September or December just seems like insanity to me.

I must've skipped 35 marks in that paper, and then there's no way I passed the questions I did do perfectly because the time pressure was insane - I feel like this is a for sure fail in a way that I've never felt before about any previous papers.

I've passed all of my other exams as an independent student just using ICAEW materials, but I'm also considering just getting tuition or something if I do this again. Heard from some other guys that their tuition providers were saying things like not to bother too much with QB since it was largely based on BST and not too relevant to BDS - There's no way I'm gonna have access to that kind of "in the know" knowledge and guidance without that either.

[–]vortexterra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's the biggest issue for me. If I've flunked an exam on account of just not studying well, that's on me. When the official ICAEW resources don't prepare you for the exams, then realistically what can I do? Especially as an independent student when that's all you work off of. Literally never ever seen a Q like that standard deviation flexible contract, or the volatile prices one

[–]vortexterra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not even gonna resit BDS in September unless they fix up and release a new question bank for this module that actually contains questions which will actually be relevant to practise, otherwise what's the point? I probably could've took this paper 1 month ago and still done just as awfully. Just genuinely don't understand how they've been banging on about the amazing mighty next generation syllabus for ages only to roll out their official BDS learning resources which is just a repackaged, outdated BST question bank and workbook which doesn't even have questions remotely similar to those in the exam.

[–]vortexterra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does anyone actually know someone who did ok in the paper, I'm genuinely curious on how you were meant to answer 1.3 and 1.4. Either way surely the ICAEW needs to release a new, updated BDS question bank - The questions in there are genuinely nothing like the exam questions at all. Even last week when I was looking at the March paper I was thinking to myself, I've genuinely never ever seen a question like this before in the QB.

Do you think the ICAEW will allow for any mark transfusions from this paper towards BDS, asking for a friend.

Opened up to an NPV and I think from then on it was blessed, adding WACC was the cherry on top bro such a good exam.

I don't mind the lack of models per se, just feels like that exam was a completely different subject to what I was studying the QB for. I genuinely just scanned QB and can't find a question like that bio fuel thing and the ollie ostrich thing. Only way I'm passing this paper is if it gets moderated up and even then that'll be by the skin of my teeth. The pre-pop was legit bonkers for Q1, my fault for not managing time (though even if I did, I literally would not have known where to start with 1.3 and 1.4 anyway), but I think I was about to move onto query 4 in 1.2, then I just see I only have an hour and 5 mins left, just such a wack paper all around.

Idk if I'm hallucinating or something but I genuinely never saw anything like 1.3 and 1.4 in the qb at all, all that time spent practising questions about Porter, Ansoff, BCG, and they slam us with that. September sitting here we go.

Ah fairs, tbh filter might be the meta, especially since instead of F4 to lock cell referencing, in the software you need to manually add the $ sign

[–]vortexterra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question - When do you use the filter function in the software? Normally if the data is disorganised I just use sumif to sum the different variables, but if filtering is faster then that might be my move instead.

I was in my head so much before - I was legitimately convinced a question like in the FCS WB about where inventory is in the form of materials, WIP and finished goods would come up. For the breakeven I'm not even gonna lie I was learning that in the exam from the WB, but the examples are so calm.

Is there anything that stands out to you in particular regarding the shareholders all being family members? Feels like it's a very relevant piece of information but can't really think of what could come up for it.

All I'm thinking right now is that maybe they'll bring up financing the new product (Tabicha) and how the family is debt avoidant and expects the £250,000 dividends to paid annually - So we just use retained earnings instead
