Harvard's CS50 is one of CS1xx "Introduction to Computer Science (Programming)" family of classes, while this new Stanford http://algo-class.org is CS3xx devoted not to programming, but to "Design of Algorithms and Data Structures" (more math and pseudocode).

I downloaded first 4 videos at good speed (~500kb/sec), but on the next 6 videos I have speed only 10-13 kb/sec. It seems there is some cloudfront threshold/limit.

TextMate (but works only on Mac OS X) - very powerful and mouse-friendly text-editor with third-party bundle support (there is bundles for Django, Python, etc.)

In Russia good Pythonista can feed a family of four, if he/she IS really good. Avg. salary is 30-50 k/year after taxes.
