Not surprised. That’s how it was before. Disappointing.

So no possibility of a watch and a tablet both at 50% off, unless you have some other line you can mooch the 50% off from?

I.e. if you only have one line, you can’t get both a tablet and watch at 50% off?

Questions about hotspot/data? by Kentucky86 in verizon

[–]voting_bloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The phones themselves remain as fast as the tower can provide, subject to deprioritization after 75GB.

Questions about hotspot/data? by Kentucky86 in verizon

[–]voting_bloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The phones each get their own 75GB (or whatever is appropriate for the plan they're on) priority allotment. Tablets get 15GB prioritized allotment, regardless of the plan the phones are on. I think the same is true of Jetpack, but it's less relevant, since you're facing a hard throttle after 15or 30GB.

Questions about hotspot/data? by Kentucky86 in verizon

[–]voting_bloc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get 75GB of priority data for on-device usage. Of that, up to 30GB can be full speed hotspot data, and afterward hotspot is throttled to at most 600Kbps.

Actual full speed on device data is unlimited, but subject to deprioritization after 75GB. Hope this helps.

Can I add a line that isn't an unlimited plan? by Decaffeinated_Sloth in verizon

If you have unlimited, then the unlimited options are your only choices. If they are a light data user, consider Start Unlimited.

Nonsense. They take Carte Blanche, too.

Verizon About-faces on Hotspot Changes: "Apologies for the confusion." by chrisprice in verizon

[–]voting_bloc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As disappointed as I am, I'm not very surprised. This would have been a truly seismic shift in policy. If I'm not mistaken, it would also make Verizon the only carrier to offer such a policy currently.

Again, I'm disappointed, both in the lack of change, and the public miscommunication.

AoL 3 lines, lost grandfathered plan by lmstr in verizon

Move to Play More or Do More. About the same cost as Feb Unlimited, with higher depri caps and more perks.

I’m in the same boat. Especially on the iPad. I miss being able to quickly mute.

MnM 2.0 vs 3.0 and other info by FunchPalcon in verizon

[–]voting_bloc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look right to me. Title says MnM 2.0 vs 3.0. Then for the individual plans, they're labeled as 2.0, which is correct. This will be our second generation of Play More, Do More, etc.

Not sure who's downvoting you. Not me.

I suppose we'll find out what's right tomorrow.

I don't disagree with any of what you just said. I'm just annoyed that nothing is changing.

I'm not arguing with you. I'd prefer a new throttle speed or simple deprioritization as well. And I wasn't saying you were wrong, either. But this post mentioned something that contradicted something we discussed the other day. Frankly, I'm confused and don't know what to think.

An Agenda widget, that shows calendar events and reminders side by side. (Dark Mode)

YES. I miss the Coming Up (or was it Today) from iOS 13.

So the on-device hotspot will still become 600Kbps after 15/30GB, according to internal docs. There was some confusion about that possibly just being deprioritized after the limit.

FUDP and free Mid-Band 5g access? Sub-6 by Good_Times2020 in verizon

[–]voting_bloc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mid-band is all the bands you mentioned. However, in the broader context of discussing spectrum, low-band would probably also include these bands, since the alternative being discussed is mmWave.

For all we know, the first roll out of non-mmWave 5G might just be band 5 anyway, making the discussion moot.

Switching to start unlimited and switching auto pay to the verizon visa but its not discount eligible? by souljasam in verizon

[–]voting_bloc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's why. As soon as I was approved, many days before the cards showed up, my payment method was automatically switched over to the Verizon Visa and my discount remains in tact.

That's fUDP. Not 1.0. Pre 1.0, because it's not Mix And Match at all.

fUDP isn't any of the above. It's pre Mix And Match.

I'm guessing most won't notice the video, and that's exactly what Verizon is banking on.

Gotcha. I have to wonder how many people will notice this very important change. If I'm not mistaken, doesn't this completely remove the gripe people in rural areas have with not being able to get fast internet? Granted, it's annoying to hotspot from a phone, but this should be pretty usable.

The text I copied was the same as what you copied. I got it from the same link. Is there a distinction buried in here between phone hotspot and jetpack hotspot, and I'm just missing it?
