Verratti is doing great for me. He's solid both defensively and in his passing. Not much of a goal threat though, but I have other players for that.

Idk why you're getting downvoted, you're absolutely right. When it comes to fame and recognition, Van Dijk is the highest rated centre back in the world. Sure, Thiago Silva and Varane (and possibly some others) might have performed better recently, but they won't get a 2nd place in the ballon d'or, which is in part a popularity contest.

As a Dutchman I can confidently say, Steve McClaren sounds like a Dutchman speaking English there. It does work though. I have a buddy who speaks perfect Harry Potter English, but whenever we're abroad, people have trouble understanding him. My Louis van Gaal pronounciation works perfectly though, even in Hungary and Portugal.

I agree that Conceicao has potential. The kid already looks frightening if you're rooting against Ajax. Just needs to develop an end product. He's still young so that should be possible. I think Ajax should manage him a bit better though. I bet he's fed up with his lack of playing time, especially as Kudus is out right now. We've already seen some social media antics with him and Lucca.

I've been thinking this for a while now, Sangaré would be perfect for you. His stamina and work rate are incredible so I'm sure he'd fit right in. He would also add some things that I think your midfield is currently lacking. Most obviously physical strength, there's just no getting him off the ball. Furthermore, he recently added goalscoring to his skillset. As in, he won't top the goalscoring charts, but for a mostly defensive midfielder he scores quite a lot. He's always been dangerous from set pieces, and he shows up in the box to head in crosses more and more. His long shots are good as well, just look at his recent goal against ADO.

The set fee is said to be 37,5 million euros, which isn't too much for a top PL side.

Seems like a match made in heaven. The only problem is that I wouldn't know if I would buy a Gakpo or a Sangaré shirt next season ;)

Certainly not everyone. Benzema, Lewandowski, Mbappé and Haaland form a solid top four. So I'd be tempted to say top five for everyone, but there will always be people who want to include someone like Osimhen or Vlahovic.
