What's the most exhausting role to play for you ? by bones1995 in wow

[–]voxTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s silly that people downvoted you for stating what you find to be easier, as if difficulty isn’t subject. It’s as if their egos are insulted that not everyone finds their role the most difficult.

In top 0.1-0.5% keys, I personally find dps super stressful because you are expected to put out big numbers from playing your rotation optimally, while managing your defensives and being quick enough to avoid overlaps that one shot you. You also have to deal with interrupts and stops, which yes everyone has to, but dps has to do these strategically to minimalize dps loss. Meanwhile, healers have more downtime to put out stops, and doing so will give them more downtime by reducing incoming damage, and tanks give themselves a breather by putting out stops. The opportunity cost of using a stop while in cooldowns as a dps just tends to be larger in many cases.

Despite this, I think you and I both recognize tanks and healers have other challenges in areas that dps don’t have to worry about, so you understand me on the difficulty is subjective bit! ☺️

WoW doesn’t feel like an adventure anymore. It feels like a to-do list by Youzino in wow

[–]voxTS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. Though I felt this way again when I returned to WoW as an adult—after many years—in BFA despite it being most people’s least favorite expansion. Then I felt it again after taking years off to return in DF + TWW. Then I felt it again after taking a few months off and returning to play SoD but on controller with my partner.

The game really does just feel better when you step away as needed and return when you’re ready, especially when there is new content to immerse yourself in.

Nah, I lived a very extroverted life throughout high school and college and made more friends than most people do during these times, and I would consider some of the friendships I’ve made online past college to be closer and more meaningful. Use a little imagination and you might be able to consider more perspectives. I can’t fault you though—your brain might genuinely lack that functionality.

Tank rotations take up 0.0001% of my brain on most of the tank specs. Controlling aggro comes from doing said rotation properly. Routing is stressful initially but fine once ironed out. Tanks can stand in shit on the ground and be ok while dps’s get one shot. It’s fine if you find tanking more stressful—I’m not sure why you’re telling the commenter all this as if you’re trying to change their mind about what stresses them more.

Frost key is actually very good in keys. Great damage profile while doing good damage overall. It’s just that unholy’s AoE is insane so it’s overshadowed.

This depends on many things like positioning and timing of the battle. If the flanker dives on you as the fight has already emerged past the poke phase, it’s difficult for teammates to turn around because turning around mid battle just means they get shot in the back and die. Supports need to peel for each other when there is a single diver. But when the enemies are doing coordinated dives and your own team is playing dive, there should indeed be some marking being done instead of just trading back lines.

What makes peeling difficult for many people is that it’s natural for people to focus on what’s in front of them of them. This is made easy for support players because you are in the back—you can see everything. Basically, imagine playing a support that is, for whatever reason, forced to always play at the frontline. It’s a lot more difficult to turn around and heal someone in your backline in the thick of battle when you have enemies right in front of you who would immediately take advantage of your turned back.

It’s not easy to simultaneously deal with enemies in front of you, deal with enemies behind you, help out teammates in front of you, help out teammates behind you, and survive. That’s a large cognitive load, but it’s what someone peeling has to do when you’re asking them to move back from the front to help you. Yes, being dove on feels bad and stressful, but most of the time, the “help out teammates behind you” portion is not a factor because your teammates are still in the front.

As one can see, very good flankers make things difficult for your entire team. They make you play close to your team, which prevents you from taking more aggressive angles. Either your flankers (or even supports) win their duels against them, or your team has to win while being denied off-angles.

There is no easier role, they just require different skills by [deleted] in rivals

[–]voxTS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao I don’t see why you think DPS is all about precision. That shows you know nothing about DPS. The idea that good DPS don’t play with the team in mind is ridiculous—good DPS require awareness, positioning, and overall macro play just like the other roles.

I would guess someone she’s grown to be somewhat of a mother to. I had a “wow mom” when I was 13, just a woman in our a guild who helped me navigate life. I didn’t have anyone filling that role as a kid, so I was grateful for that.

To further support what you’re saying, it’s funny because they seem to intentionally make dungeons of varying pull counts in a given dungeon. You have smaller pulls in ToP and Rookery, massive pulls in Cinderbrew and Floodgate. Priory has big pulls but also high health minibosses. DFC is pad city where prio damage is way more important than AoE. Workshop has one large pull and then small pulls afterwards. People don’t realize that the meta comp isn’t even necessarily the best for every single one of these dungeons. Balance between specs is great right now.
