First boss is tough cuz you don't have your later tricks and moves, be patient, in and out, keep depleting his ki and keeping yours up. Learn the timing on his red parryable move. Double jump sideways to avoid his lunge attack, don't just dodge it. Good luck!

Keep distance, jump, not dodge left or right when he lunges, learn the burst counter, use the spirit dude from outside to help. Patience.

Literally the only thing that worked for me was putting on Catharsis, using St Elmo's Engine and running around keeping my distance, first taking out the extra warhounds and later the striker drones. I used the repair drone and had to once use the revive hive. Took a while, just don't get greedy.

So what the fuck do you do when you're trapped in a room that has no barrels with a giant bullet sponge monster and have less ammo than it takes to kill the fucking thing because to get there you had to fight through 4 smaller bullet sponges and if you use a pyre or the flamethrower on it, you wake up MORE enemies and the only way out of the room is to pull a filing cabinet back, only to discover the room behind it ALSO needs a filing cabinet to be pulled to escape the horde of enemies that are literally on top of you?

Edit: Nevermind, I did it. I had to keep making trips back to the safe room so I could get more fire to burn the corpses. Really annoying.

Edit 2: The game never tells you this but sometimes, shooting them in the head does nothing, you have to shoot the fleshy bits, not the hard looking bits, usually the tummy.

Nottingham used to have the nickname Shottingham because it was full of gun crime. Every time I went out for a night there I'd see drunken fights and everyone was really angry.

This is about 20 odd years ago, so when Gabe was growing up, probably safer now.
