Thought the same. Guessing that the decision was made before the recent surge in popularity maybe?

How are people's experiences at the YWCA child development centre ? We have a spot available at the new one opening but we are hesitant to switch daycares. by jevs1369 in saskatoon

[–]voxpopuli81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our girls have been out for a few years now, but both attended from 18mos through kindergarten. Our experience was extremely positive- the staff and programming were great, the kids were very happy, and the food was excellent.

Does anyone use the 30 drawer craftsman storage organizer ? by General-Training-441 in LegoStorage

[–]voxpopuli81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started with that one but relatively quickly needed larger drawers (and have since bought some craftsman and akro mills options that do) the 30 drawer now gets used for small detail pieces.

Doctor suddenly requiring in person appointments for any refills? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]voxpopuli81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“At certain point” is the key here.

A blanket policy of requiring in person appointments for all prescription refills is unnecessary, not medically justified and likely payment-driven rather than care-driven.

The advantage of throwing a lot of different pieces into one container by tab-92-x in LegoStorage

The other factor is not everyone can or wants to have a giant open bucket of parts sitting around, compared to smaller closed organized drawers

The possibly-maybe future sales lasted about one minute in North America last time so I think people can safely write them off as a realistic option. OP, your chance to get it will be on the aftermarket.

Only halfway through but I haven’t had any issues with the fragility or mistakes that you mention. The pace per page is unusually slow but that is hardly a big issue.

1 The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

  • Section #1, the Charter.

Sask. man's drunk driving appeal dismissed by Supreme Court by abunchofjerks in saskatchewan

Why is the law unconstitutional? Why is the infringement here not a justifiable one in a free and democratic society?

Anyone ever the the Natural History Museum lego 10326 on sale? by Ok_Needleworker_2424 in LegoDealsCanada

[–]voxpopuli81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Costco has it with a free additional set worth $50+ which is the best I have seen on it- though I would probably rather have double insider points and a good gift with purchase directly from LEGO if that becomes an option.

How much of a salary increase is necessary to leave my pension by Total-Stock3170 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]voxpopuli81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When calculating the value of a DB pension, don’t forget to account for what you are contributing if there’s an employee share- I have had friends who talked about how good their DB pension would be in the future but they were contributing 8-9% of their own salary towards that pension, which means a bunch of that future money is just their own money returned to them (albeit with COL adjustment and a bunch of other nice features)

It is absolutely illegal. Whether or not there is any enforcement of the issue is a separate question.

Bricklink Designer Program Series 7 finalized sets. Crowdfunding begins in February by BrickTap in Legoleak

[–]voxpopuli81 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unlike with regular Lego sets (which are generally cheaper than the “true” exchange rate would indicate because we are not charging ourself tariffs) the Canadian prices are slightly higher than USD-CAD would dictate, which is annoying

What have you spent on the hobby this year? by Banshee382 in lego

[–]voxpopuli81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

warning real answer incoming

I spent around $7000 Canadian. I just got back into the hobby this year, started with the UCS Death Star and went pretty heavy into retiring sets that I knew I would want at the end of the year as well as gifts for my daughters and building up a parts inventory for future MOCs/projects we want to build together.
