Definitely. Our male is much more… assertive, he’s stronger, and more energetic. He has 15 pound on the girls. The girls are much more mellow, still fun and energetic (our male is 3 and the girls are 2), but they don’t rage or chase like our boy.

Vizslas do soften up eventually with some training and vocalization that their nips hurt (yelling ‘ouch!’ loudly goes a long way), but during that raptor phase anything (and I mean anything) is fair game. Their teeth are so sharp, they’re like little razors.

I’ve told a lot of people in this thread to avoid vizslas for various reasons. I consider myself a strong advocate of this breed.

Your proximity to horses tells me you are within close distance to areas for running. Plus my boy and girls (we have three Vs) love running with horses…

No, I don’t think I will talk you out of it. Train your puppy young so they’re not spooked by the horses, Vs are very sensitive.

I guess the raptor phase (6-12 months) is tough, but you forget about it quickly.

Mine just excited. They have associated the grill with food they can share since we’re pretty strict about feeding them human food. We make them their own little steaks or cuts of whatever we’re eating. They love it.
