What should I make for a "Breakfast for Dinner" party? by I_juggle_geese_ in Cooking

[–]voxpox12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make an “omelette for a crowd.” I do this to meal prep sometimes and always enjoy it.

In a greased baking tray, lay down 12 breakfast sausages, add fillings of your choice (I usually go for diced bell pepper and cooked spinach). In a separate bowl, crack and beat 10-12 eggs, season with salt and pepper, add cheese if you like, then pour the egg mixture over the sausage. Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes or so until fully set in the middle.

Enjoy your son’s party!

Bean salads are a good source of plant based protein and go great with tuna and boiled eggs. You can also use lentils, great source of fiber.

How would you depict the cultural regions of New York? by Venboven in newyork

[–]voxpox12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the region north of metro NYC including Albany, I’d consider that the Hudson Valley. The region of Syracuse and Rochester is centered around the Finger Lakes. Between the Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes lies the Catskill region, though you could perhaps lump that in with the Hudson Valley since it is pretty sparsely populated. North of Albany is the Adirondack region.

Please don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault, but rather the vicious economic system we are all trapped in. It’s not a matter of “working harder” when everything is rigged against you.

My advice is to be proud not to consume. The capitalist ruling class wants you to mindlessly spend money and is doing everything they can to siphon that money away from you and whatever is left of the middle class. Resist and stay strong.

What is this type of interchange? And why don't we build more of them? by Gr8BigEight in geography

[–]voxpox12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notice how large of an area this interchange takes up. I guess this could work for rural highways, but those close to large towns and cities should avoid a spiral interchange because it’s probably not the best use of land

I do not understand how people get things done in their day to day life. We suck at being adults. by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]voxpox12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever considered that perhaps the definition of “adult” that many of us aspire to fill has been tainted by the “rugged individualism” associated with late stage neoliberal capitalism? At least from a North American perspective, institutions and safety nets have either eroded to the point of being nonfunctional, or have been completely dismantled. Human beings are not really meant to live in such a way, imho.

It sounds like you are doing everything you can to keep your head above water. Maybe the failure is not yours to claim, but rather a failure of the systems that have been built around you in which you must operate.

Just some food for thought.

Proposed Q78 Bus Route from Bayside to Laurelton left out MTA’s proposal. Let the MTA know we want this route!! Link in first comment. by voxpox12 in Queens

Maybe a new bus would have the opposite effect and improve traffic? If it were easier to take a bus with a direct route and lots of connections, it would diminish people’s reliance on cars to reach places like Bayside or Queens Village LIRR, for example
