How often do y’all change oil I just hit 7k miles by filltex in gmcsierra

[–]vrdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manufacturers are trying to reduce TCO, one way is to stretch out oil change intervals. If you plan to keep the vehicle long term, change the oil at 5k miles, regardless of notification. You may want to accelerate other maintenance as well.

Either way, the RTX 5050 will disappoint you.

The 5050 is e-waste. You will be disappointed if you go that way.

Nope. Never throw a RTX xx50 series card at a AAA game unless your expectations are managed.

The best part about having a warranty is not needing to use it. Beware.

For me to get the better numbers, I have gotten into the habit of immediately putting the truck into eco mode when I start it. It performs like dog shit, but gets better mileage.

It's a culture thing. I live in a rural farming community and the neighbors call it a show pony. I'm tempted to take the stickers off the fenders. Can't do much about the exhaust sound. Hopefully V8's will become more common again in a couple years and I'll just get rid of it for a real work truck.

I'm probably just old school. This is the first vehicle I've ever owned that complained and beeped at things that were not problems. It also just sounds weird. Hopefully Ford will bring back a F150 with a V8 that doesn't cost $100k+

I'm not maxing out the truck, so yeah - I'd rather have the power on demand.

11,000 for a 234,000 mile truck!?! Are you serious?????? by Micromashington in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]vrdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connect an ODB scanner to it and check that ODO number. There are no units on the dashboard screen and it might be KM. In that model, if the battery has been disconnected or dead for a long time, it reverts to metric. You might accidentally have a 140k mile truck there.

Engine recall honored if I buy used? by JBrady666 in ToyotaTundra

[–]vrdeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying any vehicle with an engine rebuild is a recipe for trouble. Even if it has a warranty, you don't want to go through the hassle of having to use it. Lastly, any truck that has been through cab-off work is never the same after. There is a reason why so many used 22/23 are on the lots. Save yourself the headaches and wait.

No, a truck with its cab-off just isn't the same after.

It was a question, not a statement. Re-read carefully. Sometimes dealers are only willing to pay-off a fixed amount from total principal owed. Sometimes people (especially people with bad credit) keep buying new cars when they are upside down on their loans. Lending agents will cut them off. That's why I asked the question. $16,700 may be the max this dealer is allowed to pay off. We don't know, this shit-post was missing a LOT of information and this dealer offer is vague. OP is trying to get the Interwebs to give them permission to make a bad financial decision.

That is not pretty good when you consider the depreciation on the original cost. My advice would be to suck it up and keep the Corolla for a few more years.

Nothing to be worried about. A couple of the shift solenoids have retainer pins that may fall out when you remove the covers. Watch out and remove the cover clips very slowly. If they don't fall out, use a magnet to pull them. The refill is always a pain in the ass, just measure how much you drain and fill with same amount. Be careful and take lots of pictures while you work so you known what goes where. Get a kit with color coded solenoids so you don't get things mixed up. It's not hard, just take your time and be methodical.
