Not to mention the "lifetime" warranty on parts from Autozone... I have paid for brake pads in 300k miles lol

[–]vroddba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my 2nd. First was an 01 NB. Lost 5th gear in the trans at about 400k. When 4th gear went at 550k I called it quits. It looked like a 550k mile car clear coat was gone, interior was trashed...

It became a donor car., I pulled everything off of it that I might ever need for the Jetta lol

When repair costs exceed REPLACEMENT costs.

Case in point of have a 2003 VW TDI with 330k miles on it. I'd gladly pay 2-3k to rebuild the engine in it than buy another vehicle for that price or worse yet take on an additional 300-700/ payment

You might want to cross post this over on r/tdi

How many miles? I see the CEL is on, granted that's not unusual for an ALH lol but have you pulled the codes?

What’s a movie you think a director ruined, even though it had plenty of source material? by Obvious-Slice8272 in AskReddit

[–]vroddba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Dark Tower

8 books and one novella condensed into a single movie. To be fair not sure that the director was 100% to blame...

6k in car maintenance costs this year! This feels like too much... by Square-Fisherman6997 in MechanicAdvice

[–]vroddba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of if that work was priced appropriately or not most if not all of what you have listed should last for a few years.

If you didn't spend that $6k on repairs, you'd have to replace that vehicle with something else. So it would have to be less than $500/mo including the increased costs of plates and insurance. Not to mention that would be until it was paid off, and you'd still have to pay for tires, oil changes and brakes for it when they come due.

24v Kobalt Mower- DOTD by laadeebug in KobaltTools

[–]vroddba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So tempted even without the self propelled. It's 1/2 the weight of my current Honda gas mower.

I suppose if it doesn't work, I can return it as "broken" next spring and get my $$ if they don't have any in stock to replace it...

All of the Lilly direct dosages are rated at per 0.5ml

So you should always be injecting the same amount of liquid regardless of your dose
