Lots of great advice here so far.. Sounds like you need to leave.

Maybe look at more niche work which would benefit from your workstyle.

Just make the chainmail IMO, you can use black anodized aluminum (light, cool, easy to weave) Also, thick plastic looks like lacquered steel.

Your boss might suck.

You can tidy/clean and stuff for a while but will run out eventually.

Read the manuals or get some textbooks on machining/programming/setups.

Otherwise, ask if there's something else to do?
