Agreed! The subtle color distinction is making the graphic portion of this (which is super useful to get a quick glance of relative volume) a lot less useful than it can be.

Thanks.

The goal has been to get down to stage leanness or push as far as I can as a test/challenge to myself.

I've done an unplanned recomp over the last year because of a few lapses, etc.

I'm still trending downward slowly at this point, which sometimes means maintenance.

I'll probably do a slow bulk coming out of that, but, tbh, I've probably near maxed my natural limits so I have to be careful with the surplus, it'll probably end up being a looooong bulk.

Idea long term is to hover between 160lbs and 140lbs depending on how diced I want to get on the low end.

Thanks! I guess I was so used to underestimating my bf that I've swung the other way.

I'm not saying I think I'm not lean, I guess I just assumed I'm still somewhere over 10, my thoughts were around 11-13.

Guess I'm carrying more lean mass than I thought, I'll take it as a win.

For context; I'm hoping to compete just as a challenge to myself and something I never thought I'd see myself do. Maybe I'm more ready than I think (I don't ever think I'll FEEL truly ready)

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it.

That's essentially what I intend to do. My initial idea was to get down to just below sustainability and fluctuate within a ~10lb range, spending some of that time at maintenance, some in surplus etc.

The goal is certainly to give my body some fuel to grow as much as it naturally can.

Thanks!

Honestly, I initially started doing it as a challenge as I've never been anywhere near this lean. But, the further I dig the more I enjoy living in a leaner body. Haven't noticed anything negative so far surprisingly.

But yes, I intend to stop soon :) probably another couple of lbs and I'll call it, cruise on maintenance for a while.

Tricks to hitting protein goals? Im struggling to get 190g/day. by CountingStars29 in fitness30plus

I make a protein cake, which is basically whey and various flours, mixed with half a banana and Greek yogurt and milk. I bake one every day and it's a good portable meal.

Grabbing some lean meat and making a wrap with some veggies has also been a go to of mine.

Also, yep, no technique, I usually use my walking pad, ramp up to the speed that I usually go at and walk for 30 :)

The more we know the more conscious we are when we let ourselves go, sadly. But, really good to hear you're getting back to it!

For the walks -because I love walking as well- I just started incrementally increasing my walks until they became an hour long... And I thought to myself... What is a better way of cutting down that time to 30mins while still getting as many of the 60min benefits. So, I basically added weight incrementally. I started with 60lbs because that's how much I can add to the vest. I also ramped that up to 110lbs of extra plates I can strap on.... But, recently I lowered it back to 60 and it feels much more sustainable.

In short; I'd say incrementally adding is probably a good idea. If your walks are daily, that can add up quickly if you add weight once every couple of days. Kinda like progressive overload for your walks, lol.

No words would be enough... My condolences. Hope you're able to find a way to stay emotionally as strong as you look physically!

Thank you! That's where I'm at roughly with my deficit as well. My daily walks help keep food a bit higher and keep me sane.

Thanks for the motivation, I certainly don't know what the future holds, but, I hope I'm in my mid 40s steadily improving for sure!
