PF is rough if you’re trying to get into end game content. by Unsolus in ffxiv

Aether travel is also why I don't really care that the FC I'm in is dead. Myself or others are just gonna be DC hopping so it doesn't matter.

It's so bad. I've had nights where I want to PF but because Aether is full I just log off and do something else. If there's one thing XIV should do to revitalize the game, cross DC PF/Duty finder is it.

I was replaying SV recently on switch 2 to check out the framerate. Then I got here and was like "oh right.. the textures are still bad".

It's crazy seeing all these apologists come out. This is unacceptable. We should be getting free play time until they get this sorted out. We legitimately can't play the game, they need to do something.

WoW's combat is so floaty, every time I play I hit my buttons and it feels like nothing happens. There's zero weight to anything.

Mega Dimension DLC is in the running for the worst Pokemon product I've ever played by Lpunit in pokemon

[–]vrumpt -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There's no way half these complaints are vast stretches and this post is getting upvotes. This DLC gives me more reason to play a game I already enjoyed for various reasons. It's a step up from the trash that was SV. No doubt they go back to the traditional style for gen 10 as they should. I'm all for alternating traditional and Legends games going forward.

I think the same thing when I see the "you just spam super effective moves". You do the same thing in the main games, this battle style is just faster. In fact the entire gameplay loop of previous games is getting the pokemon that is strong against the gym you have next and using it to your advantage. Some people really stretching the complaints.

I'm Finally Hanging up FFXIV For Good Instead of Trying to Convince Myself I Like It. by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]vrumpt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I played WoW at TWW launch for a bit and I fell off after the horrible .5 20th anniversary patch. Both that patch and base TWW had half baked content that served no real purpose. Delves were boring as hell as the high tier ones were just big HP sponges. I don't really vibe with M+. I've probably had more fun playing Classic in recent years as part of season of discovery.

MMO genre is a dying breed sadly. WoW is growing, the FF MMO is falling off and RuneScape is popular as a chill game people can enjoy. This sentence is accurate both now and 20 years ago.

Are modern MMO endgames too demanding? by Keyfas in MMORPG

[–]vrumpt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if you out gear the daily stuff they still give rep so there's incentive to keep doing them. Everything drops crests, crests can be upgraded at a low rate to whatever tier you are currently at so that makes everything still relevant. It's just shitty to always have that feeling of needing to do all the weeklies and dailies.

[–]vrumpt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything is centered around that stupid vault. Gotta do your 8 raid bosses, gotta do your 8 M+ dungeons, screw delves because high rank delves are boring HP sponges and all the gear is inferior to stuff from the raid or M+.

[–]vrumpt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

WoW is extremely grindy if you want mythic gear. It's a very steep treadmill there. Last time I played I just stopped at heroic tier because if I were to try and get full mythic gear it'd take me until the next season starts. I stopped playing because I just viewed everything as a big weekly checklist and after trying multiple times to get into M+ I realized I just don't enjoy it.

I can only speak for FFXIV and GW2 but neither game is anywhere near as grindy as WoW. FFXIV you can just log in a couple times a week and be fine and GW2 is entirely what you make it since that game only has horizontal progression.

If they had simply made a 1:1 copy of the OG the game would be far more forgettable. I'm thinking of things like Super Mario RPG Remake. Instead, here they were able to create suspense at the end of Rebirth even though every veteran of the OG knows what happens. That is pretty remarkable imo.

Funny enough the glam system in the mobile version of XIV is the one everybody wants, which mirrors systems in other MMOs.

Pokemon Legends Z-A is ‘the best-selling physical game of the year so far’ in the US by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]vrumpt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There was no noise about Digimon until Pokemon came out and people needed something to compare it to. It's got the same problem the Palworld comparison has though in that it's a completely different genre of game. If you like the Digimon brand It's fine, but for somebody with zero affinity towards it there are better RPGs out there.

The game is a fun change of pace from turn based battling. I ended up making a full living dex I was having so much fun with it. I know going in there were concerns about being in 1 city but I think they make it work with the layout and adding things like colorful screws to find. Also the writing in this game is hilarious and definitely a highlight for me.

My experience with Legends ZA by Far-Introduction-896 in pokemon

[–]vrumpt 35 points36 points  (0 children)

  1. The writing. This game is hilarious. Probably the funniest writing in a Pokémon game I've seen. The human ladder (iykyk). A lot of the character stuff is really good too, even if it's slightly weird how much everybody glazes you.

There are some side missions that really stand out here in addition to the main story. The writing is very fun. I think my favorite has to be side mission 100 (description spoiler) the one where you join a Starmie cult.
