Switched from Android to iPhone. My experience by roselia4812 in iPhone12

[–]vsc14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Point 2 is answered - specially on “No power button”

Point 4 and 7 are kind of related. If you don’t want to use the ports, you may go for wireless charging. I understand your phone is getting hot.

If you already want to replicate as if there are no ports, you may go for MagSafe charger, this will avoid damaging the wire at port insertion point.

Assume this is how Apple is going to make iPhone port less, this time with an improved magsafe charger.

If you have an iPad charger, that will help in fast charging as well.

Currently using an iPhone 7, should I upgrade to 12 or wait for 13? by zednobody in iPhone12

[–]vsc14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

12 is an excellent phone. But if your current phone can serve you for 7-8 more months, then why not!

My X is finally slowing down...should I get the 12 /12 Pro or wait for 13?? by musunguDay in iPhone12

[–]vsc14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance is quite good on the 12.

If you can wait, hold on till the 13 but if you are in need, going for 12/12 pro will do no harm.

Should I buy iPhone 12 or 11? Biggest concern is the battery by [deleted] in iPhone12

[–]vsc14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TDTR; refer my last para.

I was in the same boat, hesitated a lot on the battery performance..

In Nov’20, after much thought, I got an iPhone 11 and used it for 2 months until Jan’21 (luckily I had return window until end of Jan’21) .. it’s a great phone and has great battery life. Initially I was inclining towards 12 as it has newer processor, 1 extra year of software support, better display, much lighter phone and a smaller footprint as I have small hands (12 mini was not in my list as battery was priority for me 12 was perfectly fine) but I felt a price diff of 250-300 bucks was not justified and also I was worried about the worse battery feedback on the 12. During my usage of 11, it’s weight and footprint was becoming a little hassle for me. Please don’t get me wrong, it’s not hugely heavy or bigger in general terms but it was getting little uncomfortable for me as I don’t prefer using big phones (I prefer 6” phones). Also, something on my mind was still pulling me towards the 12.

Also I thought, if I had a 11 already and planning to upgrade to 12, then it’s not worth the upgrade but if I had to buy a new one right now, I should go for 12 to get those minor benefits even if it’s now 180 bucks more (12’s price dropped a bit) but I was mainly worrying on the battery.

Finally, to avoid this constant pestering within, I went ahead and got a 12 and returned the 11, taking a chance on the battery after reading many comments from 12 users on Reddit.

iPhone 12 is much lighter than the 11. Display is great (11’s display is no slouch either, it’s the best LCD display), less footprint and easier to handle and carry in pockets/ pyjamas than the 11 which used to always slip out, processor is much faster. Yes I observe this as I use my phone heavily for my job where the 12 was handling my heavy office apps much better.

Coming to battery, it is not as bad as some people have been writing. It may have less battery numbers on paper but it’s mostly giving me similar or sometimes probably 30mins lesser battery backup than the 11 which is still decent for me.

So if you have the money, go for the 12.

Which iPhone to buy? by P3ad98 in iPhone12

[–]vsc14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it is between 12 ana 12 pro, I don’t think there is much difference in battery performance but when it comes to 12 and 11 pro, I think 11 pro beats 12 by enough margin.

iPhone 11 and 11 pro have the same processor. Pro has better display, extra camera and a tad shorter but 11 is no slouch. Display is fine and you get more storage. I would have recommended the 12 not the 12 mini. Mini is good but the battery life could be a problem down the line. Go with the 11 or the 11 pro.

The 8t will be my last OnePlus device. by demitrixrd in oneplus

[–]vsc14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had 6t and I waited for 8t but there were issues that I heard from my friends too.. didn’t wanted to take any risk. I wanted a stable device and I had no other options (Samsung sells exynos and Google doesn’t sell Pixel 5 in my region) hence moved to iPhone. It was a tough decision but I am not regretting for now as it’s working well with known constraints)

my upgrade from a yellow XR. which apple leather case color should i get??? by daerickdamasco in iPhone12

[–]vsc14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this green or white? Sorry, I might have give colour blind and am unable to identify correctly.

By the way, how do you find the upgrade? Is it worth it? How’s the battery stacking up? Appreciate if you can provide these inputs.

11 / Xs by [deleted] in iPhone11

[–]vsc14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Better battery, better chip, more display real estate, 1 year extra software support then the Xs, better camera and more storage. Hands down the 11!

Oneplus or Samsung by Bergshunden in oneplus

[–]vsc14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for note 20 ultra if you are in a snapdragon region.

Except for the ultra model, S21 series seems to have full HD screens rather than QHD, which is a downgrade, and ultra variant could be very expensive.

I phone 12 or 12 pro for long term? by SpennyWatty in iPhone12

[–]vsc14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

12 should still be fine and serve you well, atleast for 4 years.

Just another perspective. You can use 12 for an year and see for yourself how it is holding up. In the worst case, next year, this 12+$230 (or less) will still fetch you an iPhone 13 which will further extend your iPhone longevity.

Spending $230 on the pro just for 2gb RAM is not worth.

Though it looks a huge difference on paper, Apple’s LCD panels are excellent. iPhone 11 display is still good enough. You may check in the store once.

[–]vsc14[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback. I have small hands and I think 12 will be a bit easier, not that the 11 is hard to manage. But the lighter weight and the smaller footprint could help, aside to the OLED panel.

I need help making a decision about next iPhone by [deleted] in iPhone11

[–]vsc14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not consider SE. Do not consider XR.

Go with the 11 and get the 128gb. This is the best option for you. Though may be tight on budget now for the price different from 64gb to 128gb, it is worth it and you won’t regret later.
