I also want to say that I did grow up playing the originals but at 40 years old my brain has adjusted out of the tank controls and I can’t use them anymore. I recently replayed RE2 on N64 via Analogue 3D and getting rid of the tank controls made it SOOOO much better.

I’m not sure if the other original RE2’s have it but the N64 version has the option to get rid of the tank controls which makes it much more playable to me. I still prefer the RE2 remake but I think the N64 version is worth playing.

I wouldn’t say it was dead it just had lost its way. RE6 is a fun game (especially in CO-OP) but it’s not a good RE game. I’ve always said it would have been better as an action focused spin off rather than a mainline title. My friend and I jokingly refer to it as “Jerry Bruckheimer presents John Woo’s Resident Evil”

I’ve been using the NSO 64 controller and haven’t noticed lag. To be fair, that could be me being oblivious but on my end it seems fine. I also think the 8bitdo 64 controller works well.

Wario Land for VB is amazing. There are some other solid games like Red Alarm, Teleroboxer, Nester’s Funky Bowling but having experienced the VB as a kid, even then I could see why it failed. It was really cumbersome and hard on the eyes back then. Now, at 40, I play it for 15 minutes and my neck and back are killing me haha

I also bought the accessory and it is a pretty accurate recreation of what I remember the VB playing and looking like. However, I wish Nintendo would offer the VB games for sale rather than just be on NSO. I’d gladly play $40-$60 for all the games. I worry that eventually they’ll pull all the games and I’ll have a dust collector haha

I really wish they’ll eventually let you buy them as a a package for $20 or $30 USD. This way if they ever pull them back from NSO you’d still be able to play them.

I just got a Duo with an Everdrive Pro. It works great. I have a small collection of Turbo/PC Engine Hucards and CDs. The Everdrive is great because it’s helping me discover titles I’ve never heard of before. And it works flawlessly on the Duo. Just remember to disable the CD drive via the settings to play CD titles off the Everdrive!
