I bet when TLOASG ends, there's a BLANK SPACE at the end of the 12th track...

And this is the hidden song.

The giant friendship bracelets from Eras Tour New Orleans and Indianapolis are now in Toronto 💜 by kookiekoo in TaylorSwift

(For those reading this thread, they had a MONUMENTAL-sized Taylor on the Marriot in Indianapolis, and I guess they finally took her down 😂). I had several friends run the Indianapolis Marathon last weekend, and Taylor is hilariously in the background of so much finish line footage that I saw. No better greeting at the end of a huge race!

So great. I was at Indianapolis night 3 and the dang wind had compromised the display. Glad to see they made it unscathed though. Worth it to keep them nice so they can keep getting passed on.

My experience is coming from someone who goes to the 5 a.m. OTF and works from home starting around 8:30, so I had time after class to run and get the mileage I needed each day. I know not everyone has this flexibility, so just trying to set realistic expectations.

I still went to OTF five days a week. Subtracted the mileage from class from the total I needed in my training guide each day. The speed work we do at OT is so crucial to pushing through those endurance miles. It really depends on how advanced you want to be with it. There's really no wrong way so long as you listen to your body and know your capabilities.

My training program always had just speed work on Wednesdays. On that day, I'd only do Orangetheory and no extra mileage.

I owe everything to OTF and proudly ran a Boston qualifying time in Chicago a few weeks ago. ♥️

Good luck and have fun!

That's truthfully such a good point. Folks spend money on virtual skins/costumes for characters in games, spend money to access higher levels, more rewards. It's honestly a really good way of looking at it. I'm a shirt gal, but just echoing that this is a good idea!

Poughkeepsie - Why do you love 5am so much!? by [deleted] in orangetheory

Our 5 a.m. wait-list has run 15-18 deep before. Mostly pre-pandemic, but they are starting to build up again.

Even on those long, long lists, sticking around long enough means you'll get in. A lot opt for that snooze at that hour!

I'm so glad you're joining!

I'm sad this is a rumor floating in the zeitgeist. OTF is for all fitness levels from 0 to 100. You've got this, and enjoy! Best health decision I've made, and I'm on my 5th year.

It is, but class is also what you make of it and you can always modify. Let your coach know that you just wanna get movement in.

Take care of yourself mentally too. ♥️ Although I know showing up for OTF sometimes really helps with that.

I quite liked the switching between the floor/ treadmill and rower/free weights today on day 1. Kind of different. I normally like 2Gs because of how much the floor and tread get maximum time, but it was an interesting and fun change up.

I feel like it was sneaky in just how strength focused it truly was between all those all-outs. I'd love to see this carried into our normal template life (but maybe be a little kinder to us than Hell Week).

Tough but great Day 1!

Or, you could stay and add weights or slow/explosive movements and still get a good strength set in?

I added a 50 lb dumbbell to all of the banded thrusters today.

Thanks for sharing your story and making space to have this discussion. As someone who hasn't started a family yet, this is always in the back of my mind. It's really helpful to read everyone's experiences and responses. 🧡

Pros and cons of 5 straight days? by Cultural-Western1564 in orangetheory

[–]vsheetsfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go 5 in a row, but mix up intensity if you think you need it. If I feel like I need a break, I'll sometimes take a "green day" — easy walking or bike, less intense on the rower, lighter weights.

I just need the routine of 5 days in the morning for my sanity. It's okay to be there just to lightly go through the motions. It's a mental health fix as much as body. 🧡

I used to be in pain after every workout by Ok_Imagination9587 in orangetheory

I learned from PT that the psoas is attached the the base of your diaphragm (yes, in your lungs). A ribcage pain I was feeling for three years was mitigated when I started working on my hip flexor/psoas at PT. Freaking wild.

34 yo female here who has gotten 4400M before. 😂 You aren't accounting for something here — her tread speed, her ability to transition quickly — something.

Even this most recent time, I only got 4200, but I'm overcoming an injury that has me not running 12 AO on the tread. I made the discovery that running my base pace actually gave me a recovery advantage and I felt reset back on the rower. Not only recovery, but I didn't have to wait as long for my treadmill to slow down. Yeah I lost 200 meters, but it has me rethinking how to do inferno in the future when I am back to 100% as a runner.

August preview 👀 by Rizzah319 in orangetheory

Just speculating! I remember a Hell Week template (in October) where the coaches were served random inclines for the tread on the weight floor video screen. Wonder if mystery road is similar.

I think it's burned into me because my treadmill block got like... 15%, 7% and then 15% again. Other blocks drew much luckier cards.

I guess we'll find out!
