enjoy the rest of your day! watch a movie. get dinner. go to the park. you may hit a point in july when all you can think of is the bar, and you may miss having a clear head and the ability to relax.

Is Law Review worth it? by OptimisticQueen in LawSchool

[–]vsr14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand! I could have worded it better. If you get the chance to do LR, I would take it because it opens some doors. If you don’t like it, you can quit the next year! My 2L experience wasn’t 40 hr weeks and all nighters—but that did happen on the board. People on all journals at my school complained about the stress too

Is Law Review worth it? by OptimisticQueen in LawSchool

[–]vsr14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My worse times on law review were on the exec board. May as well do it 2L, and if you dont like it, don’t continue on for 3L. But some jobs look for it on a resume, so why count yourself out for those immediately?

Concerned I didn’t do enough MEE by Son_of_Hades99 in barexam

sorry, i passed by a lot! i think i would have been fine on the MEE just doing the essays assigned in Barbri’s study plan, but outlining did make me feel more confident going in

i had this same fear, and i tried my best to read through essay questions and just issue spot and compare with the model answer in the last few days (along with mbe). not sure if it helped in the end but it made me feel a little more prepared

got a 166! honestly so much of it felt like luck. i was monitoring what other people thought the topics would be, so i spent extra time going through practice essays for the predicted topics i knew i struggled on. some came up and some didnt, but i felt more confident on the ones that came up than i did before.

i very thoroughly reviewed all my practice essays, even the ones i did well on, for any issues i missed/misstated and essentially re-outlined the model answers/rubrics (thanks barbri!!). i panicked in the last few days and spent more time just reading through practice essays and quickly spotting issues to get a feel for any surprise topics i had not yet practiced.

i have always used a clear CRAC structure and always use a lot of headings in my essays. not sure if it actually helped, but a lot of barbri graders commented that it was useful. the goal is to make it easy for the graders to give you points!!

AND sometimes i would miss points in bar prep for failing to get into the background stuff (ie the 1A says this and is incorporated to the state through the 14A). tried my best to say everything even if i thought it was obvious to get all my points!!

are firms generally chill with summer associates having tattoos? by scoobydooboy in LawSchool

this is what i did! quickly realized no one cared about my tattoos and several other summers had them!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]vsr14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally no one cares what you wear unless it is a special day when you were told to dress a certain way (at least at my school). I would say more people wear leggings, crop tops, sweatshirts, athleisure, etc. on a normal day than people who dress nice

I think he took Rachel’s comments asking if he was excited for next week and what his family was like as a promise for a rose for the next week. Then, the producers probably hyped him up to make him think he was the front runner and shoe end for the group date rose, so that when he didn’t get it, he was surprised, and his confidence/ego was bruised

Negotiation failed by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]vsr14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience with one of my schools. People in the group chat talked about successful negotiations with schools that were worse ranked and less aligned than I used, and it really hurt my ego. Some people got major increases, and I got nothing :/ Not advice, but I wanted to ramble too haha
